  1. looking up thumb stretchers on google.......
  2. ^ Yes WM, it was a very welcome call to help our furry friends. (I mean the dogs, not the band members, even if they may also be furry)
  3. I didn't 'etch' it, but I did write my name in an unused area within a programmable memory chip that is part of a satellite. If aliens find it and bring it back, won't I be surprised!
  4. One of our cats (I am not allowed to say which one) came up to me yesterday after reading about the current Tazzyfund fund raising drive on my computer while I was at work (I need to change my computer password) and discreetly asked me if I would make a donation, and try to obtain a Dirty Knobs guitar pick to place on its collar. You see, this particular cat is a big DK fan, and wants to show its support for fellow pets - even if they might be drooling dogs who (from time to time) eat their own poo - something no self respecting cat would ever do. I was very proud of the cat but couldn't help asking how cats licking their own butts is any better than dogs eating their own poo. The cat refused to answer and I am now afraid it was offended and may shit in my headphones at any moment. So, in case the cat logs on again while I am at work and reads this post before I change my password, I want you to know that I made a small donation on behalf of cats everywhere who, despite their hissing and meoooowwwwwwwwing, dont mind getting licked by the odd dog occassionally. And please don't poop in my headphones. Oh and I'm sending back all those toy mice you bought on Ebay. Peace
  5. Source: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/04/08/macca_malware_attack/ If you did, watch out, your Windows PC computer may now be infected by malware. (No indication that MACs or non Windows computers are vulnerable to the attack). It seems that hackers broke into Paul's site, planted malware that attempted to install itself on visitors computers by exploiting one of several known browser vulnerabilities. The site is now cleaned but if you did visit the site shortly before April 5th, you may want to thoroughly scan your system with something that will detect the banking crimeware programs installed by what is known as 'LuckySploit'. If you think you may have visited this site be on the lookout for the following: Zbot (Mal/Zbot-I, Troj/Zbot-EC, Mal/EncPk-HJ) Troj/Goldee-Gen Mal/Alureon-C TDSS (Mal/TDSS-A, Mal/TDSS-B) Autorun worms (W32/Autorun-ABJ) Troj/Agent-JDY Several of these items stealth themselves once installed making subsequent detection and cleanup trickier. In summary, LuckySploit is just another kit enabling the bad guys to construct attacks with relative ease. And with the financial sting in the tail that these attacks typically hit you with, ensuring you deploy effective web security is as important as ever. 6. TM = an arrogant monopoly out to completely corner the live music venue and ticketing market. TM's actions seem to suggest they care little about the artform, or the artists. There is a place for a responsible ticket seller. One that values the art, the artists, and treats their customers with respect. Anyone know of one? Having a single player in the ticket business that has a stranglehold on most venues is just plain wrong, and it pisses off the fans even before they arrive at the show. If I were an artist I wouldn't want my fans feeling alienated and used. Ummmm, unless I played punk rock and feeling alienated and abused was part of the gig LOL.
  7. Every song on Echo except I don't wanna fight?!?!?!?! That is wild. Very creative Matt! (Clapping wildly!!!!)
  8. I don't think ticketmaster should be allowed to participate in the secondary ticket market at all. It places them in a conflict of interest with the customers they are supposed to be serving in my opinion. When you click 'best available' thats what you should expect. How can what they offer be the best if they are holding tickets back, or making side deals with other parties? At least be honest about it! Just tell us the game is rigged. "Click here to buy whatever crap tickets we haven't already sold to some insider who is pitching them on the secondary market (including us)." I also think that their ticket fees are too damn high. And since I am paying those crazy fees, I'd like to know exactly where that money is going. If I can buy gas with an atm card and pay 45 cents extra to make that transaction, why are ticket fees $15 plus? Those are some pretty pricey electrons flowing around their electronic point of sale system. They must be magic. I mean, a gas purchase and a ticket purchase aren't really the same, so Ill apply a difficulty factor of ten to the ticket transaction because they have to de-conflict sales and have a big surge of customers all at once... That's still only $4.50. That I wouldn't complain about too much. Why so damn much? And charging me to print my own ticket? Explain this to me. Seriously. Because it feels like you are twisting the knife after you've stabbed me with it!
  9. Wish I could have been at the gigs! The upcoming tour sounds great man! I love that dirty water......
  10. I was responsible for that one LOL! (I'm a bad bad boy) http://sendables.jibjab.com/view/F2fR9SdNcBWLfUId
  11. This should get interesting if the public gets to see the results of this subpoena..... Source: http://www.oregonlive.com/newsflash/index.ssf?/base/business-0/123883626419000.xml&storylist "Brokers' Data Is Subject to Ticketmaster Subpoena (Los Angeles) (AP) — LOS ANGELES -- An investigation into how Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. handled Bruce Springsteen concerts has reached the subpoena stage. The giant ticketing company based in West Hollywood incurred the wrath of the singer, concert goers and even Congress in February for alleged actions that possibly forced fans to pay more than face-value for tickets though its re-sale operation, TicketsNow. On Friday, Ticketmaster sent an e-mail to brokers "to inform you that we are now required to hand over certain information about TicketsNow's broker clients and their sales activities." Specifically, the company said it would be turning over the identity of brokers who sold tickets for two Springsteen concerts that will take place at the IZOD Center in New Jersey in May. Authorities also will be getting copies of the broker contracts, Ticketmaster said. "We are required to provide these materials in response to lawful demands," the e-mail states, identifying the investigating agencies as the U.S. Justice Department, the New Jersey attorney general's office, the Federal Trade Commission and the Canadian Competition Bureau. It wasn't clear from the note which of the investigating agencies had issued the subpoenas. A Ticketmaster spokesman confirmed the wording of the e-mail and that it went to "hundreds" of brokers. The company had no further comment. Last month Ticketmaster Chairman Barry Diller denied wrongdoing in the handling of the Springsteen tickets. Ticketmaster is under heightened scrutiny because of its proposed merger with concert promoter Live Nation Inc. Critics of the merger, including Springsteen and other people in the industry, have said it would concentrate too much power in one company. The complaints initially came from thousands of fans who were unable to log onto the Ticketmaster site when tickets for the concerts went on sale. The fans said they were redirected to the TicketsNow resale site where the tickets were available at a markup. A day before a Congressional hearing on the merger in February, Ticketmaster reached a settlement with the New Jersey attorney general that said the company would not direct Ticketmaster.com users to TicketsNow.com for a year. It also agreed to make 1,000 tickets available for sale to randomly selected fans who had filed complaints with the state. In the settlement, Ticketmaster admitted to no wrongdoing. But it went further in trying to make nice with Springsteen. Chief Executive Irving Azoff sent him a letter of apology, posted on the Springsteen site, in which he acknowledged that consumers were questioning "if they had an equal opportunity to purchase these concert tickets." Azoff went on to say the company "was trying to do the right thing," but "we clearly missed the mark."
  12. I guess we have to learn more about the proposed law - it isn't clear to me that this allows fans first crack at all the tickets, or just puts off scalping for two days.
  13. I dont get it - so TM holds the tickets back for 2 days and then scalps them thru their channels? This helps how?
  14. Athena and I are going to see her at HOB in Anaheim. We are pretty excited about it! (I'm setting aside my 'ban' on that venue after the slam dancing incident at the X concert on our wedding anniversary LOL! The bruises have healed now.) Edit: we paid $49 a ticket including fees. JJ Cale was around $30. Guess which tickets were sold thru Ticketmaster? WM, Im not sure just how much power the Artists really have - TM and Live Nation control so many venues, that is a lot of leverage on Artists....
  15. ^ After all, he has 'naturally curly hair' And welcome to the Farm!
  16. Make a stop at the High Sierra Music Festival on July 4th weekend Some of us will be up there - (Its a long ass drive though LOL)
  17. I also voted L.A. but Austin is right up there. I almost went with Austin because the crowds are so much friendlier than in L.A.
  18. "Hate Week: 4-10" What the ???? I thought we pretty much hated all year round! I never got the memo!
  19. I never understood the appeal of plastic (or wax) figures. I mean, we have so many real plastic people here in L.A., why invent more? Suppose you could always put a wick in their heads and make candles.
  20. You may want to clear your browser cache if the images are not loading for you now. If that (or closing and re-opening your browser) still does not work I'm stumped. The server is a little slow however, so give it a minute before giving up. PM me if you are still having problems please.
  21. ^ Please check again. The images are now being served up as of the time of this post. Let me know if you are still having problems.
