Source: http://craytonc.tumblr.com/post/92274833/paid-to-do-it-but-fails-to-make-his-friends-wife " In Stuttgart, Germany, a court judge must decide on a case of honorable intentions in a situation where a man hired his neighbor to get his wife pregnant. It seems that Demetrius Soupolos, 29, and his former beauty queen wife, Traute, wanted a child badly, but Demetrius was told by a doctor that he was sterile. So, Soupolos, after calming his wife’s protests, hired his neighbor, Frank Maus, 34, to impregnate her. Since Maus was already married and the father of two children, plus looked very much like Soupolos to boot, the plan seemed good. Soupolos paid Maus $2,500 for the job and for three evenings a week for the next six months, Maus tried desperately, a total of 72 different times, to impregnate Traute. When his own wife objected, he explained, “I don’t like this any more than you. I’m simply doing it for the money. Try and understand.” When Traute failed to get pregnant after six months, however, Soupolos was not understanding and insisted that Maus have a medical examination, which he did. The doctor’s announcement that Maus was also sterile shocked everyone except his wife, who was forced to confess that Maus was not the real father of their two children. Now Soupolos is suing Maus for breach of contract in an effort to get his money back, but Maus refuses to give it up because he said he did not guarantee conception, but only that he would give an honest effort." Its a living....... (Even if it might be an April Fools joke, its pretty amusing - jury is still out if its real or not.)

/rant mode on If we can wrap CD's in impenetrable plastic plastic outerwrap that is so impossible to remove, how come we can't devise an equally impenetrable way to contain nuclear waste? I mean for chrissakes, it shouldnt require sharpened metal instruments, bright light and complete concentration to unwrap a CD. And I won't even go into the gooey plastic peel off thingie on the inside that continues to infuriate the purchaser even after they have managed the impossible and removed the outer wrap. Its like one of those flipin' bar puzzles. No wonder people don't buy CDs so much anymore. If you want a puzzle just buy a puzzle! And what to people do who are physically handicapped? Run over the package with their wheel chair till the shattered plastic cuts open the packaging? What a way to wage a war on your customers music industry! /rant mode off

^ She hates oysters - and every time we get some I tell her, "No really, these are the B-E-S-T oysters ever! You have to try these!" I have no idea why she hates watermelon and cucumbers - I figure she was beaten by melons as a kitten or something.

^ LOL Linda! Well, last year we got to the first day of the festival around 10 AM , got our wrist bands, went thru the entrance, and within 5 minutes some gal passed out right in front of us from the heat. Yea, it can be a little hot, but there is plenty of water around. And Barton springs is right around the corner - The biggest problem is no shade, but the Texas audiences are GREAT! Much more polite than in LA. That is why we have avoided the local music festivals and opted for Austin. Like that festival in the desert a few weekends ago - they dont even let you bring water in! What turds!

Can't wait for the CD to arrive here. In my experience, Bob's albums sometimes take some time to sink in - From the sounds of that review, this album in particular seems like it has to be taken as a whole. I will definitely dedicate time to listen to this one in its entirety once it arrives. It will be fun trying to pick out Mike's contributions Depending on who he is playing with this can be harder than it might seem.

U.S. Declares Public Health Emergency For Swine Flu
angelic_22 replied to Echosoftom's topic in Depot Street
Pankie, maybe I am taking your comment wrong, and if so nevermind, but It isn't logical to blame illegal immigrants for bringing the flu to the USA. In fact it is illogical to assume thats how it happened as the number of legally sanctioned border crossings far outweighs the number illegal ones. Since the bugs themselves don't care who they infect there is simply no basis to think otherwise. We do have huge fallout from illegal immigration, but this flu is completely unrelated. -
Ever since I woke up this morning and discovered I have a little curly tail, I've had this incredible craving for truffles...... Not (snort) sure what is (oink squeeeeeeeeal) going on here - (grunt grunt).

I'm just waiting for some pirate character to get shot between the eyes on some disney cruise now with all this pirate hysteria. Bound to happen. -
Welcome to the farm! (I think the real reason the band isn't touring is that they can't remember where they parked the tour bus last and have not been able to find it.)

Fans offered their girlfriends to Metallica
angelic_22 replied to Refugee's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
Don't you think that in deference to our loved ones, and how much they already do for us, we can dispense with the cooking on BJ and a steak day? We'll just pick up some fast food on the way back home from work. That way everyone gets something out of it -

"To my darling Girlfriend..... I love you so much, I want to put a ring on your finger, But I want a guitar pick from the band too, so would you please give them a humdinger?" So much potential here..... -
GM to close plants for up to 9 weeks this summer
angelic_22 replied to Refugee's topic in Depot Street
I think GM's sales dove when gas prices hit $5 a gallon. If GM built fuel efficient cars instead of Hummers they would not be in the jam they are in now. That decision was made by their management. It was incredibly short sighted, having ignored the lesson from the 70's gas crisis. Getting financing is a problem now, along with having a job to make your payments too. But in the end, who wants to buy a GMC Mastadon that gets 15 MPG? You'd think that GM would have re-tooled to make fuel efficient cars - it has been almost 40 years since the 70's. Plenty of time to act if you honestly intended to. But they didn't ever intend to. They killed off their electric car efforts too. Sure they will dust off these 'science experiments' and highly publicize them while the heat is on, but they will kill these off again too once the scrutiny is removed. There is a reason GM is in dire shape. I really do feel for the men and women who work there - they mostly dont have the choice as to what they are building. That was / is managements call. Whats even more frustrating is taht I am 100% confident that the bright ideas that would make GM profitable and sustainable long term are already present in the minds of their workforce on the factory floor. If management would just listen......... Very glad Jim Wagoner was shown the door. Now if you purge everyone from there down to first level management and replace them with people of vision you would be on the right track. If GM goes down, retool the factories and retrain the workers to make solar panels and other alternative energy sources. Crank those out and create jobs. Create more jobs for system installers. In the end we have more energy independence - Every time I fly over So. Cal I wonder why every roof isn't covered in solar panels. THAT is something GM can wrap up in an American flag on President's day - much more appropriate than a 15 MPG guzzler that weakens USA national security by perpetuating our foreign energy dependence. But if they really want to continue making Hummers, then at least put machine gun turrets on them because thats what we are going to need in a few years if we don;t fix our addiction to foreign oil. -

Wow, What could say "I love you" more than pimping out your girlfriend to a rock band? They need to make a hallmark card for that. -
PS I'd like to think I wouldn't dump my 10 year old out of the car 3 miles from home. (They'd probably find their way home) Here is how I imagine the story actually happened - Mom blows her cool at her two kids because they were being insufferable little turds. She kicks them out of the car to teach them a lesson intending to circle the block and give the kids some time to think it over. Things go awry, one kid is left in the car and mom decides to drive off and 'teach the other kid a lesson' - again, fully intending to come back in a couple of minutes. Bystander steps in a whisks the kid away so when mom comes back she can't find her where she expected to see her. Mom drives home looking for her daughter, can't find her. Mom's 'lesson' for her daughter turns into one for herself as she has to make that terrible call to the police reporting her daughter missing. I'd say that any mother having to make that call has suffered enough under the circumstances, and will not be at risk of doing anything like that again. Hopefully the kids learned something too despite having their mother taken away from them.

More people flock to Twitter as a conduit for information
angelic_22 replied to Refugee's topic in Depot Street
Oh leave me to my fantasies will you? LOL! You and Drew Barrymore in a steamy lesbian tweetfest...... Oh dang, where's my camera? -
I think the mother probably could have handled it better, but when I was a kid I walked more than a mile each way to elementary school alone. How is this any different? Child endangerment? Hardly. They will sentence the mom to 'parenting' classes where she will learn how to beat her kids instead of dumping them out of the car next time.
