Alpha male thing pretty much sums it up. I think the guy is basically running around his property like a dog lifting his leg everywhere to mark his territory. Its actually a little amusing when you step back and try to avoid getting angry. Not looking at the olive tree helps.

Wow. I admire her for thinking so, but really, after what she has done over her lifetime - especially as a female rock and roller - I think she is richly deserving of that recognition. Personally I think she ought to take a moment, even just a short one if she insists, and celebrate her accomplishments because they are HUGE. Then she can get back to making kick ass music like she always has.

How bad could something by Los Straitjackets be? LOL! We have this Kenny G does Christmas CD....Not sure how we got it - suffice to say its horrible, hideous..... BLEH! I cringe any time anyone goes near it for fear it will end up in the CD player. In fact I should donate it to some charity for needy people with no musical taste. Just to get it out of the house..... But I digress.... Ill bet Bob Dylan can pull off the 'Holiday Album' OK - Sure, mere mortals like Tom Petty have cut a Holiday Track or two, but it takes artists of amazing prowess to pull off an entire Holiday Album. So my hat's off to Bob, but its going to be really hard to beat the Chipmunks.

So I go out today to clean up the tree and what do I find? His gardeners climbed up my tree trying to hack at it some more. After the shouting match ended and I chased them off of my property, I told the guy: 1. I told you last week when I introduced myself that I was going to trim the tree this weekend. I am a man of my word and you didn't give me a chance to do it. 2. You never even mentioned to me you had a problem with the tree as it was. 3. Your gardeners have no idea how to properly trim a tree - breaking off branches and leaving jagged hacks on the tree is unhealthy for the tree, its ugly, and its totally uncool. 4. While you are within your rights to cut anything that hangs over the property line, it might be a good idea to determine where that line is first before you cut. LEt me show you where the markers are. 5. You destroyed 4 of my Rosemary bushes. They were on my side of the line. Don't do that again. 6. Stay the fuck off of my property. I mean, I welcomed them to the neighborhood last weekend. I offered to lend them a hand if they needed it. I volunteered to trim the tree. What the fuck? And to beat all, when I chased his gardeners out of my tree he got upset and told me to talk to him if I had a problem with his gardeners. I told him if they are trespassing I am going to take it up with them. What the hell happened to common courtesy?? I would never start hacking on my neighbors landscaping without attempting to talk to them first. Especially when it comes to slow growing things like Olive trees. Welcome to the fucking neighborhood! Cant wait to see what happens next. It just breaks my heart. I had to cut off tree limbs that took 8 years to grow thanks to them. I wanted to leave the side of the tree facing his house looking like his gardeners left it but just couldn't bring myself to leave it like that What do I have to do today? I gotta mellow out a little cause that little piss ant next door just set me off.

Need to finish trimming the Olive Tree. Our new neighbors moved in last weekend. I met them and mentioned that I was going to trim our over-grown olive tree the following weekend because it was hanging over the property line. I came home a few days later and they had hired a gardener who hacked every limb off (sloppily) near the property line. I know the guy was within his rights but I had JUST TOLD HIM I was going to do it and I wouldn't have hacked it like his gardeners did. Not a pleasant first interaction with my new neighbor. (He hacked all the other adjacent neighbor's trees too) What a dick. I'm not even supposed to trim the tree this time of year. What is it about that house? 100% of the people who have lived there have been dicks.

I think I loved 'Where the wild things are' best of all. Probably had to do with the artwork and the sense of adventure.

Source: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-morris_obitaug04,0,835917.story George Taylor Morris, 1947-2009: Satellite radio DJ, program host GTM stoked frenzy connecting Pink Floyd album, 'Wizard of Oz' WASHINGTON -- George Taylor Morris, formerly the daily morning host on XM Satellite Radio's "Deep Tracks" classic rock channel and the primary host of the company's interview program, "XM Artist Confidential," died Saturday of throat cancer at his home in suburban Reston, Va. He was 62. Mr. Morris, also known as GTM, had been a disc jockey and radio personality at stations on Long Island and in Boston, New York and elsewhere when he joined Washington-based XM Satellite Radio in 2001. As host of "XM Artist Confidential," he did original interviews and hosted exclusive live performances with such artists as Sting, Tony Bennett, Ludacris, Willie Nelson, Amy Grant, Odetta and Pink. In 2005 he interviewed Beatles legend Paul McCartney before a live studio audience at XM's Performance Theater, three blocks from the site of the Washington Coliseum, where the Beatles played their first live U.S. show in 1964. As the midday disc jockey at WZLX-FM in Boston in 1997, Mr. Morris got caught up in an Internet music phenomenon that purported to find a strange and mystical synchronicity between "The Wizard of Oz," the 1939 film, and Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," the 1973 rock album. Someone brought him a printout of a page from the Pink Floyd Web site listing more than 80 coincidences between the album and the movie when they are played simultaneously. "Brain Damage," for example, plays as the Scarecrow sings "If I Only Had a Brain." Mr. Morris went home and played the two. "The first four or five minutes were kind of interesting, but then, just before Dorothy goes into the house and the tornado comes, it becomes an amazing series of cosmic coincidences," he told the Los Angeles Times in 2000. He mentioned the musical oddity on the air and sent classic rockers into a frenzy. The New York Times, the "Today" show, "Good Morning America" and radio stations from around the world called Mr. Morris for details. As the Los Angeles Times reported, "Pink Floyd fans camped out on his front lawn, ringing his doorbell at all hours of the day and night with variations on the question: 'Dude, is it true?' " Mr. Morris was born in King City, Calif., where he began his radio career while a high school sophomore. After graduating in 1965, he took programming and disc jockey positions in Lake Tahoe and Santa Barbara, Calif., before becoming news director at WHLI in Hempstead, N.Y. He became a well-known radio personality at several other Long Island stations before joining WEDJ, a top-40 station in the New York metropolitan radio market. In 1979 he was hired as a news anchor at The Source, the NBC young adult radio network, where he did original reporting during the Iran hostage crisis and the 1980 presidential elections. In 1981 he became entertainment director for The Source. He also wrote, produced and hosted "Reelin' in the Years," a weekly syndicated album rock show that was a mix of music, interviews, commentary, vintage commercials and film and TV clips. The show aired from 1984 to 1999. Its got to be better than the other Christmas albums we have here - I want to blow up the stereo every November just for safe measure. Maybe this year will be different? And Tim, I think "The Gifts We Are A Changin'" should be 'The Gifts we are Exchangin'

Ha! We don't eat burgers for breakfast! That's what burritos are for silly! See the Knobs! Seriously. Because if you don't they'll just do something extra super cool at the gig and you'll miss it - like the horns on Jason at the last Cozy's gig. I have not missed a gig in years but couldn't make that one, and then Jason suddenly grows horns. [edit: In fact, if one of the Knobs grows extra body parts at the upcoming gig, and you are not there, it will be your fault. And I gotta be honest, I don't see Mike as a Horn kinda guy - that seems incompatible with his stage persona. So there's a lot at stake here. Just wanted you to realize.... Horns? Nah, a tail maybe, but not horns. ]

Aerosmith's Tyler falls off stage

We have tickets for one of their upcoming concerts on this tour. At this point I am hoping there will be at least one original band member present because the way things are going for the band, they may all end up in rehab / the hospital by the time of the gig Hope everyone recovers fully and can return to doing what they love doing best. But in the meantime, maybe they all should start wearing helmets? Its not such a crazy idea actually - on a recent Eagles tour, Joe Walsh wore a hard hat equipped with a wireless camera. Personally I think he stole the show with his rendition of 'Ordinary Average Guy' and seeing the audience through the cam from his perspective was highly amusing. -
Oh man, that sucks. RIP John.

Its hard not to get excited when seeing one of these performers. When you see them together, its pure bliss! -
^Ha! When it rains it pours! And we have been needing rain so badly too! If I recall correctly, several of the artists who performed at the Dana Point Mike Canipe benefit have a regular thing there at Mozambique. We will have to go check it out! Hate to miss this gig but - well, its pouring music and we are dancing as fast as we can!
