^ Oh, my gosh. This winter has been brutal.

1. American football: good times or couldn't care less? For the most part, I don't care about football. But I'm hoping the Chicago Bears whip the Packers this Sunday. 2. Do you have a favorite sports team? The Chicago CUBS. 3. What's your favorite junk food? Lay's potato chips. 4. Are professional athletes paid too much? Absolutely. 5. Who do you think will win this year's Superbowl? The CHICAGO BEARS!

It's been a very long time.

Right now it's 10 below zero, with a wind chill of -27. I really hate this weather.

Awww, gosh. Not to be a 'Debbie' downer, but Little Debbie holiday cakes always remind me of my mother. She loved them. There was always a large, clear jar full of Little Debbie Christmas trees at Christmas, and Valentine cakes this time of the year. Not that she didn't bake...she did quite often. But Little Debbie was a lot easier. (I miss her so much. We lost her 15 years ago on January 26.)

You'd LOVE central Illinois! _______________________________________________________________ As for me....winters are more of a drag each year....I just hate these seemingly unending months of below freezing temperatures, gray skies, fog, ice, and snow....and more ice and snow....layers and layer of ice and snow.

I try to be very calm and cool in public. But at home...I, too, swear like a sailor...I can weave together some of the raunchiest words ever contrived....enough to blanket two counties when I'm on roll.

Poor, Sarah. Always the victim. So, Palin and her aides reported these presumed threats to the media AND to the FBI? I read earlier today that no reports were filed with police. Interesting. What's also interesting is that no details of these alleged threats have been released. I wonder if these these threats are in any way as serious as the threats Palin's supporters make against President Obama, Michelle Obama, and....oh, yes...those made against Representative Giffords just a few months ago Sarah Palin is a shameful disgrace. She doesn't even have the decency to wait until Tuscon buries their dead and mourns it's loss before she attempts to grab the spotlight with her pathetic portrayals of victimhood. Disgusting.

Free? Really? I really like that magazine.

Betsy, our old Buick Gran Sport Regal. She was a good car...one of the best we've ever had. But, I think the young man we gave her to will take good care of her.

I can't wait till Spring. Withthe exception of 4 days or so, we've have snow on the ground...lots of it....since the first week of December.

Hey, Rick...you're from Illinois.....aren't you a least a little ticked that we'll likely be seeing (and feeling) a 75% income tax increase? I'm pretty upset about it.:013: I mean Illinois already has the highest sales tax in the country.

That idiot hasn't an inkling of what the term, "blood libel," means.

Sarah Palin is despicable. When she's not promoting hatred and violence, she's killing animals. She should be banned from TV altogether.

Gerry Rafferty, Singer of 'Baker Street,' Dead at 63
Nel replied to WildflowerNJ's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
He was a fine musician. Such a talent. But, what a sad beginning he had, with his mother having to constantly shield him from his violent, alcoholic father. And then later, his own alcoholism took over his life. Awfully sad. Rest in peace, Gerry. -
I always feel like crying when I see the ASPCA commercials on t.v. I hate to see animals suffer. I wish I could help them all.

No, not angry. But I am alarmed and surprised that so many people voted against their own interest yesterday...without even realizing it.

She was one of my favorite TV moms. I read somewhere that she and Twilight Zone's Rod Serling were good friends and poker buddies. Kind of interesting, given their TV personas were so different from one another.
