  1. No A/C here. Thankfully, it always cools off at night no matter how hot it gets during the day. We leave the windows open overnight and close them first thing in the morning; that usually keeps the house cool for most of the day.
  2. Nope, just did what I always do in October: watch baseball. Not that that's a bad thing.
  3. Muddy, I went to http://kcsn.org/ticket_auction_ways.html, and it has basically the same info I already posted. The email I received had this additional contact information; you might want to try sending an email to both addresses. Laura Kelly is the person who responded to me. Please direct questions regarding the auction to: auction@kcsn.org Please direct questions regarding membership to: laura.kelly@csun.edu Also, check your PMs!
  4. I wonder how bureaucratic the process would be to become his foster parents.
  5. Oh wow Lizzie, what a great experience for your friend! Thanks so much for sharing.
  6. ^ Sorry to hear that! My random thought: GO TIGERS! YOU CAN DO IT! :041:
  7. I rarely eat dessert. For some reason, I don't have much of a sweet tooth anymore.
  8. Believe me, Patty, I understand. However, I was certain that Art for AIDS was going to be a Greatest Hits show, and it turned out to be anything but. Every small show I've been to (Vic, Art for AIDS, The Joint in Vegas) has been just magical. Anyone lucky enough to get tickets to this show is going to be in for a treat.
  9. I can't believe my nephew is 33 years old today. I remember holding him in my arms when he was a newborn!
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing my high school biology teacher, Mr. Fisher. I think he might remember me, but it's been a looooong time, so who knows. That said, I would truly love to see my sixth grade teacher, Mr. O'Brien. I talk about him so regularly (most of the five-dollar words in my vocabulary are a result of his ultra-difficult spelling lists), all three of my kids know who he is.
  11. One more bit of information, in case any of our college-age Farmers know someone who attends CSU Northridge. This info came in response to an email I sent to KCSN.
  12. Added to that is the fact that the really good seats are being auctioned off...only God knows how much those will go for. It will be a miracle if I can get a ticket to this one!
  13. Hey, that's not a bad price at all...less than Art for AIDS was in 2004! :003:
  14. Here are the rules for orchestra tickets. I'm guessing that other seats will be available at a fixed price? (BTW, has anyone told KCSN that Stan is no longer in the band? ) KCSN TICKET AUCTION RULES Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers KCSN Tickets Listeners can bid for a pair of seats in the front Orchestra Section for the KCSN Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert at auction.kcsn.org. To be eligible to bid, you must be a current member of KCSN and have a password to enter the ticket auction. You can become a member at kcsn.org. Current members can receive a password by contacting auctions@kcsn.org. Two tickets will be held for you under your last name at the event Will Call booth on the day of the event but not before. 15. WOW!!!! :003::003::003: Congrats to you and the Mrs., Brandon!
  16. The baseball postseason is the best by far. I also love Thanksgiving.
  17. I LOVE that the Detroit Tigers are moving on to the ALCS, and that the off-season has begun for the Yankees. :003:
  18. I was SO sad to hear this news, even though I knew it was coming. What an incredible person he was. Because I lived in Silicon Valley for most of my life, I was fortunate enough to have a lot of info about Steve's career as it progressed. Even though he had success after success with all the small-i products, he certainly had his ups and downs in the earlier years. I don't know anything about the upcoming biography, but I read an extremely fascinating book about him and other Silicon Valley pioneers a few years back. It's dated because it was written in 1993, but there is a great chapter about Steve ("The Prophet"). Amusingly enough, it compares Bill Gates to "the emir of Kuwait" and Steve to "Saddam Hussein." Anyway, I cannot recommend it enough to anyone interested in Steve and his contemporaries in the high-tech world.
  19. Unless it's very warm, I always have socks on.
  20. Depends on where I'm going, but usually 30-45 minutes.
  21. Yesterday I learned what it looks like when termites have been eating the floor joists.:eek::eek: Thankfully, almost all the damage will be repaired by the end of the week.
  22. Beth, I don't know what's going on, but I hope things get better too.
