  1. ^ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_paper_scissors Well, the Wikipedia entry gives more information than you need, lol. Here are the main points: The players count aloud to three, or speak the name of the game, each time raising one hand in a fist and swinging it down on the count. After the third count, the players change their hands into one of three gestures, which they then "throw" by extending it towards their opponent. Variations include a version where players use a fourth count—"Shoot!"—before throwing their gesture, or a version where they only shake their hands twice before "throwing." The gestures are: Rock, represented by a clenched fist. Scissors, represented by two fingers extended and separated. Paper, represented by an open hand, with the fingers extended and touching (horizontal). The objective is to select a gesture which defeats that of the opponent. Gestures are resolved as follows: Rock blunts or breaks scissors: that is, rock defeats scissors. Scissors cut paper: scissors defeats paper. Paper covers, sands or captures rock: paper defeats rock. If both players choose the same gesture, the game is tied and the players throw again.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I would not be at all surprised if one more leg is added to this tour.
  3. I just started reading "No Biking in the House Without a Helmet" by Melissa Fay Greene; so far, it is promising. The author is a mother of four biological kids who then went on to adopt five more from Bulgaria and Ethiopia. Yes, NINE children. :095:
  4. We started doing Meatless Monday at the beginning of the year. Last night we had farfalle pasta with carrots, sage, and green onions. :023:
  5. I don't think I do. Is there such a thing as a California accent?
  6. I confess, sometimes parenting is overrated. :icon_rolleyes:
  7. Happy birthday, Patty! Have a great day.
  8. An appetizer: shrimp in an Italian-style marinade. My extended family loves this recipe, but I've honestly gotten a bit tired of it. My immediate family loves my Emeril recipes: ginger salmon, peppercorn pork, and crab omelets.
  9. I think they would do an awesome cover of "96 Tears."
  10. It's really nice to know that he paid tribute to Levon Helm.
  11. I confess, I agree. :icon_redface:
  12. OK, this really made me laugh. :icon_laugh:
  13. I rarely eat fast food but if I must, Jack in the Box doesn't suck. I ALWAYS try to eat at White Castle when I go to the east coast.
  14. Nothing in my small town, but there is a street in San Jose that is indeed named after my family. (My grandparents had a large orchard there, back when there were still orchards in San Jose, lol.)
  15. Wow, that's not a bad setlist! Looks like they decided to keep some of the songs from Northridge.
  16. Any Farmers going to the opening night show?
  17. Anything by the Steve Miller Band.
