This weekend is the Maverick's surfing competition near Half Moon Bay. Here is a photo from the 2006 contest. Tyler Smith of Santa Cruz takes off during the last Maverick's contest in February of 2006. Wave faces are expected to reach heights of 30 feet in this year's competition.
