I saw them when they came out in Cleveland on their 1st tour. They played at the Public Auditorium, the same place The Beatles played on their 1964 tour. While we were looking for a place to park, we got stuck at a red light, I looked to the next lane and there was a white Rambler station wagon next to us. It was the Monkees!!!!!!! They had on fake beards to hide themselves, but we knew it was them and started yelling, they waved to us and were all jumping around in the car having a ball.

Relaxing, trying to decide what to have for dinner. I was sitting here and heard sirens, so I went to the front door to see what all the commotion was about. It was the fire truck slowly going around town with The Easter Bunny on top throwing candy to the kids lining the street. Yeah, we still do all the holidays like that.

^ It was a short lived band from Cali, They broke up and the drummer, turned guitar player recorded solo as Emitt Rhodes. He played all instruments on his LP's, cept for strings. He was quite good and had many contracts he could have signed. After 4 lp's he slowed down and the record company sued him for more than he was worth, effectively ending his career. He still lives in Hawthorne, CA and does shows around LA from time to time.
Their 1st record, we used to play this around 1966/67
