  2. A few days ago I asked what you thought of the new Fender Tele Plasma red burst with binding. I couldn't make up my mind to buy it fast enough and the 1 I wanted sold. The remaining 1 doesn't have the nice wood grain like the 1 that sold. I'll have to wait for more to come in at Sweetwater. Now I'm looking at the new Gibson Les Paul "CLASSIC". I like the Vintage Cherry sunburst, but I like the "Translucent Cherry" even more. I'll Show Pix of each below to show you and see which 1 you'd buy. I'm going to post a video too about the "Les Paul Classic" with sounds, and review and a few of the colors it comes in. Let me know what you would buy, the Tele or Les Paul Classic or both? 5. That's it, I took pix of the sign from the bridge.
  6. Tomfest, make sure you check out the mall at Hollywood & Hiland. It's just a few steps from the Magic Castle. Lots of shops and restaurants. https://hollywoodandhighland.com/
  7. Is it normal that Google is doing content tracking and Facebook is doing social media tracking here on The Farm?????? If so, why?
  8. Make your Squier or any cheap guitar play like an expensive Fender with a foam sanding block and some steel wool from Home Depot.
  9. ^ Thanks, I'll be leaving about 5am Tuesday. I have 6 appointments throughout the day. 1st is blood tests at 8am, then Scans of my head, neck and chest with and without IV to inject dye. After that I have appointments with each of my 4 primary doctors, Surgeon that took me apart, Surgeon that put me back together, Radiologist and Oncologist for the remainder of the day. I probably won't get back home til after dark.
  10. Thanks Marion. Tomfest, check out this 24/7 restaurant 50's diner style. Walk from hotel down N. Orange to Hollywood Blvd. Straight across the street is the Roosevelt Hotel, on the ground floor is a full glass door with the number 25 on it, go in, that's the restaurant. It's called "25 Degrees". take a red leather booth or walk up to the counter and have a seat to eat there. I ordered the Hamburger and an order of fries. The order of fries must have been 5 pounds! They filled me up and then they brought this huge hamburger that had to be at least 1 pound. I couldn't finish it. Of course that burger and fries will set you back about $30. Here is a link for the restaurant with a few pictures. https://www.thehollywoodroosevelt.com/about/food-drink/25-degrees/
  11. BTW, from the Castle's front door, just cross the street and go down N. Orange St to Hollywood Blvd or turn left at front door and walk 1/2 block to Hiland Ave and turn right to Hollywood. It's all close. If you turn left at Hiland and walk up the hill, the Hollywood Bowl is on the left. We all walked the few times we saw TPATH there.
  12. Congrat's. You'll have a great time. Wish I was going, but I can't make plans just yet. I'll be spending this Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic for tests to see if I'm cancer free.
  13. 1/18/20 Tonight's movie is about that fab group "The Rutles"!!!
  14. 1/18/20 Here's a little bonus from The Beatles bootleg LP called "Indian Rope Trick". I have the actual vinyl LP from back in 1968 I think, as it is pictured in the 1st video here.
  15. ^ I get a Christmas card every year from the Magic Castle, got 1 for 2019 too. Whenever I book there, they save room 117 for me. Gotta love them! I get the "King Suite" https://www.resontheweb.com/magiccastle/#?HotelCode=4226&arrival=20200118&nights=1&adults=1&children=0&showAvailable=false&WindowID=19106

  17. Yeah, try the "Magic Castle" - 7025 Franklin Ave. Phone- 323-851-0800 and ask for Gretchen. Opt for a 1 bedroom suite on the 1st (ground) floor. Reg rooms are a bit small. The place reminds you of a 60's motel that the Rat Pack would have hung out at! It's a short walk (1/2 block) to Hollywood and Hyland. That intersection has a subway stop, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Malt shop, plus you are on The Walk Of Fame with all the shops. 9 blocks up the road is Hollywood and Vine where Capitol Records is. A block the other way is Sunset Strip where The Viper Room is and way down Sunset is Mel's Diner. Beyond Sunset is Santa Monica Blvd where you'll find The Troubadour. BTW, I just had the chicken at Roscoe's, I'm not much on waffles. We had to wait for a table because there were about 30 of us together from here at the Farm. Here are some links for you. https://www.troubadour.com/ http://viperroom.com/contact.php https://www.magiccastlehotel.com/hollywood-attractions-near-hotel.html https://www.magiccastlehotel.com/ https://www.magiccastlehotel.com/the-amazing-stays.html https://www.magiccastlehotel.com/accommodations/
  18. Top 20 Drum Intro's Before I post this, let me say as a drummer, I disagree with all these intro's as being great. Let me go on record (so to speak) that all are mundane simple drum beats that could have and have been used on millions of songs. There's nothing new or great about them. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
