My new Gibson

Opened the guitar and it looks great. I was surprised to see a picture of the guitar at the end of the assembly line in Nashville included. Also came with a gig bag and a card with date made, model, serial number and signatures of inspector and packer. I took pix and will post them here as soon as I upload them, which should be within the hour.

Now that I have the JR, I'm thinking I should go back and buy the DC Special with 2 P 90's before they run out of them. I'd get the same color (Cherry) and then call them "The Twins".

I ordered the guitar yesterday morning and it was at my front door at 9am this morning!!!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to open it yet, because I have a plumber here doing work in the bathroom and kitchen. I'll take pix and post asap, maybe not until tomorrow. Then I have a guy coming tomorrow or Sunday to give me an estimate to replaster my living room ceiling (water damage from leak in upstairs bathroom). Once that's done, search for painter and then finally (I hope) get new carpet. Damn pinhole water leak did a lot of damage!

2/21/20 Brian Hyland This song was written by Curtis Mayfield and recorded by Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions in 1961. Brian Hyland covered it in 1970 and the song was produced by Del Shannon!

Besides the rosewood tele, I have a white blond tele with 1 single coil and 1 humbucker that would work as a Keith open G guitar.

I wish they had them in TV Yellow like Keith Richards played. Once I check out how it sounds, I may set it up like Keith with 5 strings tuned to open G and just use it for the old Stones songs!!

I bought a new guitar today. I got the cherry Gibson Double Cut Jr. I checked Sweetwater 1st and they say it's no longer available. Maybe the $539 price tag was a misprint!!! They now have a black one, but priced at $799. So I went to American Music Supply and they had all colors in stock for $549 with free 1 day shipping, so I ordered the "Worn Cherry".
