  1. Gorgeous pictures! They remind me of various times I've driven through the area, too. Nothing but stunning, and it's hard to keep your eyes on the road....

One autumn day I drove from TN to GA to visit with friends. It snowed the night before my trip and my usual route (straight through the Smoky's via 441/Gatlinburg) was closed. Instead I drove The Tail of the Dragon. If you have a motorcyle or snappy sports car, you want to drive this road (318 curves in 11 miles.) My visit went fine and on the way home, I followed 441. Snow was still on the ground and people were out gawking. The combination of snow and autumn colors and a brilliant blue sky was breathtaking!

  2. October 24 was the "Family History Detectives Day" I was chairperson of, so I've been putting off a number of projects...

*Get the home office in working order (started!)

*Send letters and packages I've had sitting around

    *Readdress the budget & money

    *Read up on blogging

*Contemplate Xmas gifts - it's that time of the year

*Take stuff to the thrift store

*Mom's birthday is coming up - what to do?

*Better organize and focus on the genealogical research

    *and on and on...

(and yes, it was a very successful day. So successful we're doing it again next year and I'm chairing again!)
