Thanks everyone! I have had a nice birthday weekend - dinner with mom & dad Friday at a fancy restaurant, lunch & shopping with a friend on Saturday. There was even a big snowstorm echoing the storm that occurred on the day I was born. If you all were nearby, I would probably have enough chocolate to go around!

It's easy counting -- zero!

New supergroup ~ "Tinted Windows"
jawallac replied to normandi's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
What an odd combination of people/ages. What the heck will this sound like? -
I second wild1forever's nonfiction recommendation of "The Omnivore's Dilemma." Two more nonfiction books to add to your reading list: "A Walk In The Woods" by Bill Bryson "Alone In The Kitchen With An Eggplant: Confessions of Cooking for One and Dining Alone" edited by Jenni Ferrari-Adler

I saw "Mrs. Henderson Presents" on friday. Judy Dench stars as widow who buys theatre in London's West End just before WWII, fixes it up, and launches a nude musical revue. Nicely told true story...nothing spectacular.

Bumpity Bump. I have a Facebook account now. I find it's an easier way to keep up with friends. Plus now I'm playing a game called "Mousehunt" and really enjoying it.

Now this is one deep question. The short answer is yes, I believe god [in whatever form you choose] speaks to me, and to everyone one on the planet, but who listens? And -more towards the question you seem to be asking - who takes action based on what they 'hear?' You're definitely not nuts. I think many are struggling with the choice between A)a 'real' job and their 'passion.' It's like trying to chose which world to live in or something. I sometimes wonder why we can't choose to live in multiple worlds, why we feel compelled to choose one or the other. Can't their be another choice? A third way?.... Eventually you'll have to choose, but at least bookkeeping will pay for stuff while the art career builds. And you'll need the bookkeeping skills in the art world -- counting all the cash you'll make from selling paintings (fingers crossed.) You could always offer bookkeeping services for artists...that's one way to meet people in an industry you want to enter. I think there are a million answers to the choice you have, and only you can actually make that choice. Ok, that's enough. I love talking about these kind of subjects, could go on and on and on. P.S. Serendipity is a beautiful thing. You never know who you might meet, or how they might influence you. Perhaps, as you suggest, the gentleman was a messenger from your soul...

LOL! I could say that about winters in Michigan, too...

Seeing color in sounds has genetic link - Synesthesia
jawallac replied to angelic_22's topic in Depot Street
There are a number of songs titled Synesthesia --go googling for an idea. The first one that popped into my mind was 1989's "Synesthesia" album and song by Peter Himmelman. -
Happy Birthday! :023:

No cheesecake for me, thanks. I'd rather have Tiramisu, Warm Apple Crisp, or the Chocolate Truffle Cake. I'll share nibbles if you'll share nibbles!

I read them, think about them to see if they make sense for my life at this time. And usually foget about them quickly. I'm a Pisces and match the description of the sign very well.

I would consider it, but after consideration probably wouldn't.

I'm a reformed shopaholic, which is kind of like a reformed alcoholic - I'm reformed as long as I don't take a "drink" by going to a store. Have definitely learned to limit my shopping trips and the amount of money I spend.

Gorgeous pictures - makes me want to return to London one day. Thanks for posting the link!

I answered by the middle of the song, but it really depends. Some capture me immediately, others grow on me over time.
