  1. ^^Patty_Petty - Tempur-Pedic mattresses rock! I've had one for several years and love it. Also love that thrift store hunting this time of year is excellent. Spent less than $30 got name brand jeans, shirts. No need to shop before trip. Maybe...
  2. Early years: "The Big Crush: Inspiration In Words & Music" Middle years: "Straying: My Adventures in Other Music (chiming Rickenbacker's optional.)" Currently: "Rediscovering An Old Friend & Meeting New Friends"
  3. With 2 recommendations from Farmers, I'm gonna go for it! I'll also be at the Days Inn Studio City. What time is brunch on the 28th?
  4. That's good to hear. For one night I would, but I'm there 2 nights - I'm not heading back to San Diego until Monday. Oh, I don't know...I'll mull it a bit more.
  5. :045: omg - this nite is sounding better & better! Think I'm going to pass on the Days Inn Studio City; too many bad reviews on Trip Advisor.
  6. Weird_Monkey, can you bring enough name tags for the whole bar? And a black marker or two... THAT could get very funny. :077: :003:
  7. I confess I'm tired of making travel plans...it's hard work!
  8. The older I get, the more I go for comfort first...then looks...then brand. I confess I'm partial to Aerosoles coz you get all three in one shoe!
  9. Name tags are a must! Cozy's ticket purchased, Flight booked, Amtrak ticket booked from San Diego to Van Nuys. Now I need to decide on a hotel. Wanna share hotel rooms, ladies? PM me.
  10. ^^Thanks, Pawie - I will check that hotel out & PM you once I've got plans solidified. I am planning to be at the Saturday night show. My boss is booking flights today. I'll get a ticket tonight. Will post more once my plans are finalized. Save a seat for me at your table!
  11. Things are looking up. Train from San Diego to LA is easy; Van Nuys station 5 miles from Cozy's. Also looking at the Courtyard by Marriott two miles away...
  12. I'm looking at it pretty seriously - flying into San Diego the 26th, at Cozy's the 27th, then back to San Diego for work by the 29th. The part I'm concerned about is getting from SD to Cozy's & back magically as well as if I can foot the bill for the hotel stays. Any thoughts in those directions? Heavens knows I don't want to do any driving, but if I must...
  13. More than 4 - I think. 1 for work, 1 for personal, 1 for genealogy specific, 1 for junk mail, 1 for social networking junk mail, and at least one other for an event i worked on. Those gmail accounts are so easy to set up...
  14. I will be in San Diego the following week on business (staying at the Westin San Diego beginning the 29th.) With a little help from Farmers and their fantastic coordinating abilities -- I could fly to the West Coast early for the show on the 27th... Whatdya think?
  15. Do I have to choose just one? Ok, "ding dongs".... Chances are if it's sweet, I like it. Haven't actually had any of these in years though...
  16. Work, home, dinner? relax, sleep.
  17. Can't stand 'em. Actually worked at Cedar Point and liked the beach/hotel bar more than the park.
  18. Yesterday I had a mozzarella and tomato sandwich with basil pesto dressing on a focaccia-like bread. Yum!
  19. I tuned in just in time to see Adam parading around onstage with KISS; seemed an excellent fit. Heard someone talking to day who said something like, "Adam will be a star no matter what happens. He's got so much talent - Broadway, tour with Queen, solo release - it won't matter, he will be successful..and maybe that was his plan all along." Gotta agree with them. I don't really remember much about Kris Allen's performances earlier in the season; must be a nice guy.
  20. ^^I'm there with you Marion. I confess I turned off my cable tv, left the cable plugged into the TV, still get two stations clearly and a handful semi-clear -- including the one that has DWTS! Note to self: Must unplug cable from TV - over the weekend?
  21. Flower - geesh. You posted this to my profile back in January & I JUST NOTICED IT. Now that's embarrassing! BCR were definitely embarrassing for many years. But now with the 70s being vaguely hip (like the 50s were to those of us who grew up in the 70s), it's not so bad. And heavens there are ladies who still love them... P.S. Les was my favorite, too! And he's still a handsome man.

  22. 1. I don't think I "fit" into any group. 2. I don't care, just interested in getting something to eat. Generally speaking, warm lunch in the winter, cool in the summer. 3. Oh my goodness, I was a fashionista...or as fashion forward as I could get in rural Michigan in the 70s with nothing but TV and Seventeen Magazine to inform me. One of my favorite outfits was blue jean gauchos, red wool sweater, worn with either knee high brown leather boots OR rainbow-colored leg warmers. People pointed at the leg warmers and routinely asked me if I'd forgotten to take my pj's off before coming to school. Then there were the bright pink tiny corduroy hip hugging elephant bell pants and dressing in full Bay City Roller-ish regalia. 4. Majorette for two years (yes, I have my baton and can still twirl; you never forget!,) band, pom pon for two years, junior & senior plays... 5. Best friends? I didn't have any. In fact, my mom commented about that not too long ago. She said, "Your sister always had one friend she told everything to - you never had anyone like that." And yes, I'm still like that. I have friends, but no one I would tell EVERYTHING to. 6. Mohawk.
  23. Cassadega is a great place to go if you're looking for a psychic reading or spiritual healing... It's been there since 1894...
