Anyone have experience with these? Recommendations? I'm seeing an Ion Profile LP USB Turntable advertised this weekend that will "turn records into MP3s...and play records through your home stereo." Also see something similar for cassette tapes.

these streets
by paolo nutini, pete wilkinson & sara erasmus
(performed by paolo nutini)
cross the border, into the big bad world
where it takes you 'bout an hour just to cross the street
just to stumble across another poor old soul
from the dreary old lanes to the high street madness
I fight with my brains to believe my eyes
and it's harder than you think to delay the sadness
that creeps up my spine and haunts me through the night
life is good and the girls are gorgeous, suddenly the air smells much greener now
and i'm wandering around with a half pack of cigarettes
searching for the change that I've lot somewhere
these streets have too many names for me
I'm used to Glenfield Road and spending my time down in Orchy
I'll get used to this eventually I know, I know
where'd days go when all we did was play
and the stress that we were under wasn't stress at all
just a run and a jump into a harmless fall
from walking by a high rise to a landmark square
you see millions of people with millions of cares
and I struggle to the train to make my way home
I look at the people as they sit there alone
Life is good and the sun is shining, everybody floods to their ideal space
and the children all smile as the boats shuffle by them
trying to pretend that they've got some space
these streets have too many names for me
I'm used to Glenfield Road and spending my time down in Orchy
I'll get used to this eventually I know, I know

A little warmer today, in the 30s. Light wind. Gorgeous blue skies & sun. A nice relief after the freezing cold snowy week. It was nice enough that I walked both to get my hair cut and to the library for a book sale.

Tea, hot tea, preferably an Earl Grey.

Went to work, home now, and going nowhere

No. I live in a small apartment complex. Know 'em well enough to stop & chat, but forget their names!

4-5 days at the most. I like to get out, even if it's just a couple of blocks to the library or a nearby store.

1. What types of computer games do you like to play, if any ?
Casual computer games - the ones that are easy to pick up on .
2. How often do you play these games ?
Couple times a week. Err, except Mousehunt on Facebook which I play every day because The King demands that I hunt for mice regularly. It's the only way I make gold and collect neat things.

3. What is your absolute favorite game (computer or board game) ?
LifeStories, which has nothing to do with winning or losing (but all about telling stories from your life.)
4. Do you have a Monopoly strategy ? Yes, avoid playing Monopoly.
5. Do you feel that board games are becoming obsolete with the rise in computer and video gaming ?
Not obsolete, no.
6. Take this quiz - What Board Game Are You?
You Are Scrabble
You are incredibly clever and witty. You can talk your way out of (and into) situations easily.
You are an excellent decision maker. You are good at weighing the options in front of you.
You're the type of person who can make something out of nothing. You are very resourceful.
You know a lot of things. Most importantly, you know when people are wrong - even when they won't admit it.
[Addendum: Can't stand Scrabble, though the description sounds like me. .LOL]

Worst things: driving in the aftermath of a snowfall, the overwhelming grayness, ice, having to go to work when it's snowed signficantly during the night (I hereby request snow days for adults!)
Best things: being inside a warm home watching snow fall - how it gently covers everything. sweaters, piles of blankets, and that it's different than the other three seasons.
-
Never watched it.

Yep, I do have those albums...somewhere in my parents house. Had one big crush on David Cassidy, too!

And in case no one noticed, nice jeans

That was wonderful! :icon_laugh:

Wikipedia says Jan was his 2nd wife...
"At time of first solo album, Laid Back, Allman was married to Jan Blair (1973-1975) sister of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' bassist, Ron Blair."

I know if I put liquid stuff into ice cube trays (cider, ginger tea, etc) and let it sit there for a long time, it does get significantly smaller. Full cubes can and do dwindle. Evaporation?

You Are Vitamin D
You're a naturally strong person. You've always had a lot of endurance.
You can survive what would make most people crumble. You have both mental and physical strength. You don't do a lot to stay healthy - you just live a pretty natural lifestyle. You stay away from processed junk, sleep like a baby, and get plenty of sunshine!

Head to the bank, and then over to my parent's home - we're having our T-day dinner today!

If it's a one-time shot, I could probably stumble through it.

Thank you! I knew you guys would have fabulous advice. I'll stay clear of the Ion turntable, that's for sure.
