1. At what age did you discover Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers? High School, maybe 14 or 15? 2. First TP&TH 45/album/cd did you buy? Don't remember now. Either the first or 2nd album. 3. I know it's hard, but what song is your favorite? Ummm, oh, mmmm, coming to the surface right now is: Casa Dega. and Straight Into Darkness. 4. This might be hard for some, but which song do you not favor? I'm tired of Don't Come Around Here No More and It's Good To Be King. 5. How many TP&TH concerts would you say you have been to (not counting this upcoming tour)? Just two. 6. What is it about this band that just keeps you coming back for more? Well, initially, it was a crush on the musicians! I've sure grown to appreciate the talent they all have. Mysterious lyrics that leave room for interpretation. I didn't listen to the band for many years, and then "rediscovered" them a few years ago. It was like being able to put on your favorite pair of jeans, like falling in love all over again. And I've got to say, finding the Farm has added something special to the "rediscovery," too.

Didn't he have knee surgery a couple of years ago? Wonder if he had the other one done, or is thinking about it. OTOH, the cane suits him - all dressed up and dapper.

jawallac reporting in here while at work. Thank goodness my 10am appointment didn't show! I'll be at the Detroit show, Section B, Row 3, Seat 9 -- Mojo package. I plan to stay at the hotel that's closest to the Palace, a brand new Marriott-chain hotel that gives rides to the Palace!

The book at Genesis Publication's website includes a snapshot of the handwritten lyrics for Handle Me with Care. Check out the 2nd verse that didn't make it into the song! http://www.genesis-publications.com/product/the-traveling-wilburys/collector -
Yes, I do have progressive bifocals, too. And it's time to get new glasses for me!

1. What is your favorited red food? Red Velvet Cake - just had some for my b-day. 2. Do you own any red clothing? But of course - red is one of my favorite colors! 3. Name one item you can see right now that is red - The sign that says "You're never too old to twirl." 4. Have you ever ran a stop sign or a red light? Probably. 5. Do you ever get so mad and angry that you "see red"? Yes. 6. Take this quiz - What Color Red Are You? You Are Cranberry Red Peaceful and philosophical, you are almost always at harmony with the world. You're not very social, but you always enjoy a deep, complex conversation with a friend.

Glad to help! Now you'll see mostly things that are actually important. -
I'm guessing you're right, then AmyLou. Looks like I'm in Group B. Darn it all! OTOH, the FAQ seems to indicate that we will all get emails explaining more details about the presale. Not that it will explain anything clearly... Tour FAQ is here: http://www.tompetty.com/help/index/ Q - Where is my presale access code? A - All current paid-up eligible members of the Highway Companions Club will be emailed (at the address they registered on the site with) details on how the presale works, including the unique presale access code they will need to use to take part. Eligible members will also be able to see this unique code on the Tours page when they log into TomPetty.com (you must be logged in to view your unique presale access code).

I have purposely blocked most of the games from my news feed. You still get status updates from people, but not the annoying news posts about new fish or farms or whatever. I don't play any of the Zynga games; however, I do play Mousehunt and do NOT allow it to post in my status updates. All that said, if anyone is playing Mousehunt, PM to join my hunting group.:icon_wink: -
A thread to tell folks about the music you're listening to -- that's new (or new to you) that's really put earworms into your ears? I swear I've seen a thread like that hear somewhere... I've been listening to a few good things: *My ears are currently delighted with the sounds from "The Courage Of Others" by a band called Midlake. I heard about them on NPR's World Cafe. They're former jazz students gone all old school folk rock via Radiohead. Hypnotic. Melancholy. Hopeful. Here the entire World Cafe session here http://bit.ly/cZYFJs *I'm also happy to say that Bauhaus/Love & Rockets guitarist Daniel Ash quietly put a 4-track ep up on iTunes late last year. *My inner 80's alternative freak is freakin' over the sounds of Nouvelle Vague. They're new to me. Take yer 80's alternative soundtrack and play it bossa-nova style with singing by various French female singers who aren't old enough to remember the initial releases. Definitely quirky.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It's been a wonderful weekend: I spent Saturday watching my nephew play basketball, then dinner with family. TWO birthday cakes (a chocolate & a red velvet), new @Fiestaware, some mad money, and a new book. Today I grabbed some new music from iTunes: Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Midlake, and Daniel Ash. Great weekend! Now how about a TPATH tour (with DK's opening) to make musical dreams come true?

I was a bit lazy at mom & dad's. Then I packed the car, drove home, and now have a bunch of stuff this afternoon/evening before the work week starts & the snow hits.

1. What are your siblings' names? Are your names related by a theme? My sister is Leslie which is mom's maiden name. I'm named after Julie Andrews. No themes. 2. What are your pets' names? Jasmine and Ivan. 3. Do you give pet/nick names to your car (or other large possession)? No, although I do enthusiastically encourage my little car as it moves through bad weather conditions - especially snow. 4. What meaning does your surname have? My surname is Wallace. Check out http://www.clanwallace.org/ 5. If you could name your own country or island, what would you call it? I have no idea! 6. Put in your name - What Does Your Name Mean? J is for Joyful U is for Unnatural L is for Luxurious I is for Influential E is for Exuberant Unnatural? I'm not sure about that. How about ubiquitous, untidy, uplifting, unctuous, uncouth, ultimate, utopian, united, or even UNIQUE? :045:

Just posted at the official website: "Stay tuned for a major Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers announcement, including new fan club information, coming next week!" Let the speculation begin -- everybody got money saved for tickets? http://bit.ly/aa9auW

Yes, been to both sides, twice. It is truly impressive and awe inspiring. I advise staying high up in one of the hotels on the Canadian side & make sure you get a falls view room - it's worth any extra they're asking. There's a lot of tourist stuff to do, too, though most pales in comparison to simply standing and watching the falls.

Marcia, these are beautiful paintings. I'm so happy you're launching out on your own as a painter. Gorgeous work! Website looks good, too. I had no problems viewing in Chrome 4.0.249.89.

Been listening to Nouvelle Vague - bossa nova-styled covers of 80s new wave classics. Recommended: I Melt With You, Love Will Tear Us Apart, and Making Plans for Nigel.

LOL - now that was funny. Thanks for the laugh.
