  1. 1. Soccer/Futbol: good times or couldn't care less?

Football - American style. Great times in the past (dad was a coach) & couldn't care less now.

    2. Do you have a favorite sport? No. Couldn't care less!

    3. What's your favorite junk food? Cookies!

    4. In your opinion, are professional athletes paid too much? Absolutely.

    5. Which of The Heartbreakers (including Tom Petty), do you think would win a sports trophy?

LOL - hmmm, what sport can we get them to play? Mike wins at finger wrestling. Tom wins at calling the cows home (they're seduced, can't resist...just like the rest of us.) :003:

  2. Working at eomega.org for two years, I talked with or met so many different people. Some highlights -- Babatunde Olantunji, Jimmie Dale Gilmore (and wife), Galway Kinnell, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Sharon Olds, Jennifer Louden, Alex & Alison Grey.... My interaction with them was very limited, usually assisting them as needed during their stay on the campus.

  3. Given recovery from the inevitable withdrawl symptoms, "longer" would be a return to the days before this stuff. So once I remember what I did with myself then, I'd be OK. I've been without cable TV for about a year now & can get a quick dose anytime online...life without a computer or cell phone is different, but entirely feasible - not that I want that to happen anytime soon!

  4. It's a good question, Emmie, and a big question, too. I imagine other folks in countries who have a form of national health insurance are equally as puzzled. I am completely dumbfounded at how convoluted the issue has become. I've struggled with putting the confusion into words for you in an attempt to explain. I think it has something to do with our clinging to the idea of rugged individualism -- every man (woman/child) for himself... a fear of government telling us what to do...

I would be happy to pay more in taxes to never, ever have to worry about losing a job and therefore health insurance. I'm also tired of shopping for health insurance like I shop for toothpaste. You know how when you go to a grocery store there's a row of toothpastes to choose from? Same situation with health insurance. There are hundreds (thousands?) of insurance companies to choose from. Then each company has a large variety of policies to choose from. And have you ever looked at a spreadsheet comparing the policies of one company to another? Or even the various policies of one company? Painful!

I do want health insurance for everyone. Period. Preferably single payer source, and I'm not the only one. But I also know there are many out there who disagree with me, and there's a lot of misinformation out there, too.

  5. 1. At what age did you discover Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers?

High School, maybe 14 or 15?

    2. First TP&TH 45/album/cd did you buy?

Don't remember now. Either the first or 2nd album.

    3. I know it's hard, but what song is your favorite?

Ummm, oh, mmmm, coming to the surface right now is: Casa Dega. and Straight Into Darkness.

    4. This might be hard for some, but which song do you not favor?

I'm tired of Don't Come Around Here No More and It's Good To Be King.

    5. How many TP&TH concerts would you say you have been to (not counting this upcoming tour)?

    Just two.

    6. What is it about this band that just keeps you coming back for more?

Well, initially, it was a crush on the musicians! I've sure grown to appreciate the talent they all have. Mysterious lyrics that leave room for interpretation. I didn't listen to the band for many years, and then "rediscovered" them a few years ago. It was like being able to put on your favorite pair of jeans, like falling in love all over again. And I've got to say, finding the Farm has added something special to the "rediscovery," too.

  6. jawallac reporting in here while at work. Thank goodness my 10am appointment didn't show! I'll be at the Detroit show, Section B, Row 3, Seat 9 -- Mojo package. I plan to stay at the hotel that's closest to the Palace, a brand new Marriott-chain hotel that gives rides to the Palace!
