I love Boy George, isn't he just fierce in the pic Christine posted? His auto-biography is a great read. I highly recommend it.

Christine, you were the first person I thought of when I heard about the UK earthquake. I'm so glad you slept through it...you don't need that kind of stress!

America's Got Talent report: Oh man it sure was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too, they really kept the audience pumped up. I was amazed how tired we were when we got home. (We's gettin' old...) Jerry Springer is the host...so that tells you the kind of high-octane crowd reactions they are after. Lots of loud music and clapping. And speaking of loud... those buzzers that the judges use are LOUD--the lady sitting in front of us never got used it and jumped sky high every time someone buzzed in. The talent was really poor. But Sharon Osbourne was a baby-doll! She's so tiny, and gorgeous! We waited outside for the judges to 'arrive' in limos, then she came down the red-carpetish lineup of people. And she stopped to sign an autograph right next to me so I stuck out my hand and she grabbed it and held it in both of hers and patted it, smiling and thanking us for coming out (it was 32 degrees and had actually snowed this morning!) SO SWEET. She must have signed 20 autographs, and there was a 20 mile an hour wind blowing in that truly freezing weather. David Hasselhoff looks amazing. He shook our hands, but he was wearing leather gloves. Rude. Piers whats-his-name just sayshayed in Simon Cowell style, with neither handshake nor autograph for anyone in the crowd. I don't know why Jerry Springer didn't do the limo bit, but he didn't. I don't know when this will air yet. I now what was taped today will be the first show of the season though. Its one of those summer shows. We'll have to see if my best moments end up yet again on the cutting room floor!

Tomorrow CurmudgeonDoug and I are going to a taping of 'America's Got Talent' which for some reason is here in Atlanta. We have enjoyed the show in the past, I especially like Sharon Osbourne, and I think Jerry Springer is a riot. I hope we will get decent seats and some 'face time' hahaha! Get this, the email said to wear hip clothes...I guess my DTT shirt is right out, then, huh? I'll let y'all know how it goes.....wish us luck!

Thanks to my Grandmothers I can crochet, quilt and sew freehand quite well. From my country kin I learned to churn. And I once worked in a textile mill running a spinning frame spinning raw "draw" into yarn. I got paid by the "hank" and had to "doff" the 36 spindles onto racks. (Can anybody say Norma Rae?)

Running Down A Dream Screening Nationwide
Ladywiz replied to WildflowerNJ's topic in Great Wide Open
THANKS SO MUCH ZZ! I found it on my local radio station's webpage and entered. It said I was the only one who had entered so far.....bad news is I have to listen to the morning show from 6-8 am starting March 3rd. If my name is called then I have 97 minutes to call the station and claim the tickets. -
Somebody take a pic and post it, plz!
-
^Yeah. It sure gets frustrating, doesn't it? I wish I felt as secure in this fan club as I did back in the 'Journey Force!'
-
According to the contest rules for winning tix to the RDAD screening, winners would be notifed today. Anybody hear anything? For that matter, was there a winner for each theater? Why does all the info we get have to be so darn vague?

Tom and Ladywiz... (sorry, folks I couldn't resist!)

I wish my babygirl was happy.

I hate obsessing about Atlanta tix, but I can't help myself!
-
I know there are a few Farmers from Georgia and I figure they will be going to the concert July 9. But I also wondered if any far-away Farmers were planning on coming to Atlanta for this show. And how about the Charlotte show July 11, anyone got tix for it?
-
I wonder how the Atlanta presale will go for us.

I'll take a large order of the same, whipped cream and Tommy on top!

These songs don't hold a candle to most of Del Amitri's songs. WHEW! Justin Currie can really pen some down lyrics.
-
Oh yes, all the Blue Collar guys are hilarious, but Ron White is the cream of that crop, IMHO.

Not at the moment.....but it do come and go!
