  1. I'm so glad y'all are getting to see it! What really cracked me up was when Tom did the "Tom Petty-cadabra" smoke bit to disappear ---then he could be seen hiding behind a potted plant. L'il George said, "Uh, we can still see you, Mr. Petty." And Tom said, "No you can't." Too bad they didn't get Tom to do his own voice-over...but he might be contractually obligated to FOX for that sort of thing. Still funny as hell and a TOTAL surprise!
  2. Too bad there's no "postmaster" of the Internet....hmm, maybe the FTC? I won't back down. Who's with me?
  3. ^TNX! Well, I hope that fine lady has a great birthday weekend!
  4. Beautiful music, haunting lyrics...classic Tom Petty!
  5. Isn't it time for Dana's birthday? I thought it was today...am I way off base or what?
  6. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!! Its the new ringtone for my cell phone...I never miss a call now because the song is so bright it cuts through all kinds of noise!
  7. I am a big fan of Comedy Channel's "L'il Bush" adult-themed cartoon show, so naturally I was tuned in for Thursday night's show. Needless to say I was STUNNED to hear them talking about getting Tom Petty to write a song for them and flabbergasted when our dear Tom popped up. His lines were a RIOT, I think the writers were quite nice to him---and he was drawn nicely, too. I know L'il Bush repeats, I hope ALL of you get to see this hilariously special episode!
  8. Never underestimate the power of prayer!
  9. FROM 'BREAKING NEWS.COM': TOM PETTY is always wary of returning to fabled Los Angeles venue the Troubadour because he still hasn't paid a $480 (GBP240) bill he owes bosses from the 1970's. Back at the intimate Santa Monica Boulevard music mecca for a six-night stint with his reunited first band Mudcrutch last week (ends02May08), Petty revealed he once threw up from the stage at the end of a drunken night. Recalling the moment onstage on Thursday (01May08), Petty said he was very drunk when rockers The Knack asked him to join them onstage - and he threw up at the beginning of a planned solo. He joked, "Drinks went flying... wardrobes were ruined." Petty was then presented with a clean-up bill from the venue, which he has never paid. Ironically, pal Bruce Springsteen tried to persuade Petty to join him at the venue a few nights later - when he'd been asked to join The Knack onstage. Petty offered his friend pre-show advice: "Don't throw up on the tables."
  10. Remember...'There is no such thing as bad press!'
  11. Needless to say I've gotten no answer to my email! First "the tickets are lost" in the RDAD screening contest here, now this. That's two contests that have just disappeared with no winner announced. Now what? They really need to make this right...it looks REALLY bad.
  12. Mudcrutch for your birthday? Now that HAS to be happy! Hope you have a wonderful day!
  13. Wow, so many birthdays! Hope YOUR day is as wonderful as you are!
  14. Great pix, Marion! Thanks for sharing!
  15. No way! Maybe a day but not a week...unless tivo is allowed! I'm not missing King of the Hill!
  16. Good point about the Wilbury music! We keep hoping Mudcrutch WILL pay a surprise like Stevie Nicks did last tour.
