Jeez, that is a lot of speculation and I'm sure Mike wouldn't appreciate all of this! In fact, I'm sure this is what he tries to avoid. I'm sorry I brought this on with my comment. The Dirty Knobs are simple fun. One thing I am sure of is Mike is having fun with the Knobs and I'm just going to assume that Mike IS doing what he wants and leave it at that. I'm just hoping he will want to release his music to us SOON!

^ Sorry, I can't like that statement. I still say he can do both! Why can't we have both? I'm a fan of both bands. I think it's ridiculous to think that he has to give up one for the other. The man is 65 years old. He should be able to do whatever the hell he wants! It makes me crazy to think he can't release his music if he wants to!

Oooh, I was at that show and that looks like my spot! It was so much fun! I have never seen Tom smile so much! Thanks, Shelter!

You've got it, Barbie! Check your PM's.

Barbie, I'm thinking that Mudcrutch will come next. Why we didn't think to ask about that, I don't know! Duh!!
Beth, it was really weird to talk to the guys in that setting. I guess they are getting bigger than the little bar band now. People love their music so much. And it's just crazy to me that there are no professional recordings out there for fans to buy!

The City Winery was a nice place for a show but the vibe may have been a little too uptight for a Dirty Knobs gig. Before the show we were instructed to stay in our seats and listen, just basically to be quiet for the show. So, when the Knobs hit the stage everyone stayed seated and quiet! Still it was a good show. It was just a little strange to stay seated but the fans did enjoy it. They were on their feet by the encore.
I will share Ames' photo from the back of the room so you can see what it was like.

Toward the end of the show there was a lady next to me dancing like crazy and she asked Mike if she could come up on stage and dance for them. I was surprised when he gave her the nod to come on up. She was actually pretty entertaining. I know I couldn't have pulled that off! haha! She was a nice lady and she really did enjoy the band. She just kind of wore out her welcome after a while and they had to ask her to get down. She was so funny. She had on shiny sequined short shorts and high heels.
This is another of Ames' photos and you can see the lady dancing. I think Mike had enough once she grabbed him to tell him something.

The music was really excellent and the guys did well with the sit down crowd. That must feel so weird to them! When we were leaving the guys were all out front and stopped to chat with us. I haven't been out there in so long (3 years) I think it took Mike a few minutes to figure out who I was! It sure was good to see them though. I love this band so much. I wish I could go to all of the shows.
I didn't take many photos but here is one of mine.

Here are a few videos.
This is Don't Think Twice and it's really pretty. I love Ape! He did such a great job with this song.
And Swampfox! Yer Blues
I know I posted these songs from Sweetwater in the other thread but every show is different and I enjoyed watching these versions of Sister Gypsy and Goin' Down too.

I don't know, Toni. I'm not sure how that worked out. We left after the show and didn't see any of the guys around. We did see the Coffis brothers loading up their van after the show. They were so nice to us. How fun that you are watching their career grow. I think they will do well. They have some impressive songs and I see they write their own.

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the show at The Sweetwater Music Hall. I had been to the old Sweetwater venue years ago and loved its charm and sense of history so I was disappointed to hear it closed. I didn't know what to expect from the new location but this place was really wonderful! It has a small restaurant with inside and outside dining and a separate hall for the concerts, mostly standing room only. There is a long bench along the wall for seating which was great because the back of the seats had a wide ledge running along the top which we were able to sit on and it was the perfect perch for a clear view of the stage. The acoustics in the room were amazing as well. Perfect, really. I went to the show with Amber and Sharon and met up with Brandon, his wife Sarah, and Linda (DoxieJo) and Ames and it was a pleasure!

Amber, Sharon, Ames and I had meet and greet tickets. It was really weird to us to have special tickets to get to talk to the band. It all seemed so formal and we were really nervous for some reason. We almost backed out and said forget it but we went anyway. haha! The meet and greet was at a different place near the venue in a cool garden setting outside and was held during opening act. It turned out to be really fun and the guys were so nice and funny. All day long we were trying to think of things to ask them. I even had a little pad of paper to write down questions but we couldn't think of a thing so we just ended up chatting about whatever. It was just so good to see them again! It had been 3 years since I was able to make it out there so it was really special. We talked some about the music and the show at the City Winery and how long we had been coming to see them and the first time we met Lance and Matt at Vinny's in Bakersfield. Of course the subject of when they were going to put out a CD came up and Mike said it wouldn’t be anytime soon. It would be after his other contracts were up so we will just have to be satisfied with our boots I guess. I still don’t understand why he can’t do both and why his wonderful music has to sit on the shelf. It just maddening to me!! WHY, WHY, WHY? I mean, some of my favorite Dirty Knobs songs are 15 years old and have not been put out in a professional format! That’s crazy!!
The night before at the City Winery we chatted with them outside for a few minutes and I requested that they play Blow Up My Stereo at Sweetwater so Mike said they would open the show with it. That was exciting because I was finally able to get a good video of that song and it will make a nice audio track for my collection.

The fans were really great at the show and there was a high energy vibe. Everyone was having a great time. The Coffis Brothers and Petty Theft were spotted in the crowd watching the show and you could just tell how much they admired their hero. Speaking of the Coffis Brothers, after the meet and greet we caught the last few songs of their set and OMG were they so good! I wish I’d seen the whole show! I bought both of their cds and I’ve been listening to them all week. Those guys are going to make it big someday. They were so nice too!
The Coffis Brothers

I recorded several videos which I will share here. Over the years (15 years) I asked Mike time and again if I could share the videos I recorded but he would always say no and I don’t know why! But this time I didn’t ask! I think these things need to be shared with fans, especially since we don’t get to have professional recordings and the Knobs don’t travel outside of California. There are fans all over who miss out so this is my gift to you all. I will post the videos here in this thread as I get them uploaded.
The show was so good and I love the new songs. I think my favorites right now are “Goin’ Down” and “Sister Gypsy.” Mike had this white guitar and I’m sure someone will be able to tell us what it was, but and he made it growl real low. “Senor” was fabulous too! I’m sorry I didn’t get it on video! I swear this music touches my soul and I love it so much! All of the songs were great!! Ape always blows me away. I loved “Easy Wind” and “Don’t Think Twice”. Swampfox and Lance, awesome rhythm section! I love how much this band loves to play together.
I have boot of the entire show thanks to Brandon. If anyone is interested, I will share. Just drop me a PM and I will send you the link.

^ I don't know if you'll see this in time, but Gamestop's webpage says, "online only."
Thanks Marion for the nice great big picture and the link! I had NO idea!!!!!
Now when people ask, "What do you want for your birthday?" I've got a #1 item! Fantastic!

HAHA! I didn't mean for the picture to be that big, but it's kind of nice to see the details up close. I'm so tempted to pull him out of the box!
