  1. 1. Currently, are there any babies in your family or circle of friends? Yes, my niece had a baby in October. My friends' kids are all in college and high school now, guess the next babies in my circle will be grandkids.

    2. Are you one of those people who use a high-pitched, sing-song voice when talking to babies and small children? Babies, yes - with children, I use my normal voice.

    3. If you were standing in line next to a *very* pregnant stranger at the bank or grocery store, what would you say to her? I have to be 100% absolutely sure the person is pregnant before I'll ask about it... one of my friends has a bit of a belly and has been asked many embarrassing times if she's pregnant, I would hate to do that to anyone. But if I'm sure, I'll ask when she's due, how she's feeling, etc.

    4. Similarly, what do you say or do near babies in public? I smile at them, and talk to them if they smile back at me, and try not to make any sudden moves to freak out their parents. I don't touch them. It used to drive me nuts when people wanted to put their grubby hands on my babies.

    5. When walking through a store, are you the sort of person who can go by the baby clothes without even a glance or do you have to stop to ooh and ahh? I must look, lol. I love baby clothes.

    6. Take this quiz - What's Your Friendship Style?

    Your Friendship Style is Independent

You love your friends, but you don't always need them as much as they need you.

You like to do your own thing. Sometimes this means taking a break from your friends and carving your own path.

As long as your friends give you the space you need, you are happy to be there for them whenever you can.

Your friends lean on you for advice and problem solving. You tend to be "the rock."

You and an Empathetic Friend: Go well together. Your Empathetic Friend understand and accepts you... but may be too needy sometimes.

You and a Gregarious Friend: Get along well, as long as your Gregarious Friend is happy to only see you occasionally.

You and another Independent Friend: Have a love / hate thing going on. When you agree, things are blissful. However, more often than not, you butt heads.

You and a Philosophical Friend: Are somewhat a matter of opposites attract. You're both thinkers, but you think very differently.

  2. 1. How did you ring in the New Year? I went to a neighborhood party.

    2. How do you wish you were able to ring in the New Year? Hmmm. I think I'd enjoy going on a cruise with Sharon's family!

    3. Do you have any traditions that you observe on New Year's Day intended to bring you luck for the upcoming year? My husband's family thinks eating pork on New Year's Day is good luck, so I make some kind of pork for dinner - but I don't eat it, which might explain 2009.

    4. Do you make resolutions? Do you try to keep them? I make a few and usually break them within the first few weeks - although last year I did resolve to finish massage school, and I did it. :)

    5. Do you know the words to Auld Lang Syne? Yep!
