LMAO at connie... I left a $60.00 camera lens at a hotel...

Well, we had the "all men are dogs" conversation at work... Then there were a lot of confessions from the girls...LOL As for me, I don't care... I always wonder why people get married if they have a wandering eye. It's not the 1950s. You don't have to get married if you don't want to.. And you don't have to stay married if you don't want to...

That's how I feel... Famous for what? Patty Hearst famous or Barack Obama famous? I used to see famous people in our supermarkets all the time... They can't even buy fruit without the recognition... I'm sure people who want to meet them are a big interruption... But if it's part of the job, then you deal with it, right?

I'd be a GP... Personally, I don't know how OBGYNs and Gastroentologists do what they do everyday...

^I love Christmas lights... I confess I bought a blue ray player just to hear the new TPATH CD; it's awesome. There must be at least 10,000 people in the audience and I can every person.. However, I do feel like I bought my first color TV so I can watch Bonanza...lol

"Tom Petty Looks Back" ~ New Interview in Rolling Stone
surfnburn replied to normandi's topic in Great Wide Open
I'm so happy to read about the new album. Thanks for posting this, SLQ. I guess RS is getting desperate for sales again; they're selling hot, buff guys in wet t-shirts...lol WTF? I think tom is like selling sex, and he's more relevant to the magazine... That photo would have been better... -
Too cool. I'll have to pick up the mag.

I love the interview... Thanks for posting this, Linda..

Right on... I can't even imagine how needy the homeless are in this economy. A lot of organizations depended on contributions from companies and people who don't have the money now. I'm sure this will really help.

two thoughts... I don't know why my family members who don't have kids, one of which is retired, thinks *I* (a single, working mom) has time to make a turkey dinner; they want leftovers, but it's not going to happen..... Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! My second thought... If they could combine guitar hero and wii fit, I might lose some weight...lol

Rock-star wife details drug mayhem in new book
surfnburn replied to Refugee's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
That's very true, Linda. Someone could have a psychological issue, then self medicate with whatever drug they can find. The drug side effects can compound the problem and cause long term health problems too. If shared needles are involved, someone could have a mental health issue, a heroin addiction issue, drug side effect issues, HIV and/or Hep C from shared needles. We used to get a lot of people with multiple issues at the clinic. -

Rock-star wife details drug mayhem in new book

If you go to an NA meeting, you'd hear the same stories. Drug addition is so sad. I used to draw blood on heroin addicts for lab tests, so I heard a lot of stories similar to hers. (Sometimes the needle brought back flashbacks.) Any relationship is doomed if drug addiction is involved because it's about having a relationship with the drug, not the person. Her story is common. A lot of people self medicate for mental health issues. They're using the wrong drugs to treat their issue so it gets worse. I hope she doesn't use the book money to support her addiction... -
^I think it's about the challenges to conventional thinking of the psychedelic era.... Or someone screwed up so they're giving them away....lol

^ I love your photo Marion!!! Jeez....You guys are a bad influence...LOL My Best Buy opened at 11:00am, so after I read this thread, I went down to see if they had any. When I got to the box set section, nothing.... I thought it was going to be like Ohio! I was just getting ready to ask a customer service guy about it when one walked over with a whole box of them. Apparently, another customer already asked and the customer service guy was helping him.... The customer was telling everyone all about it...I guess there are other obsessed TPATH fans in the bay area. I just opened it.. haha....My daughter thought it was a pizza box... I can't wait to listen to the cds.

Jack Sparrow just said "Ole her in the pot" in my wii game...lol

Aerosmith members concerned singer back on drugs
surfnburn replied to Refugee's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
Was he having problems before the accident? I've seen medical treatment (pain killers) trigger an addiction in someone who had been in recovery... -
I would agree, but I have found that prohibition creates crime, a black market and corruption. I've seen it with pot growers in Mendocino county.

Since you asked, I looked it up.... "Each year, a staggering 440,000 people die in the US from tobacco use. Nearly 1 of every 5 deaths is related to smoking. Cigarettes kill more Americans than alcohol, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide, and illegal drugs combined." http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/content/PED_10_2X_Cigarette_Smoking_and_Cancer.asp

It's going to be quiet at work; all the doctors went to Tahoe for Thanksgiving week vacation....
