  3. 1. So tell us, what is your personal hell? I don't have one of my own. I tend to take on other people's. 2. Which do you prefer, brightly lit rooms or dim spaces? I like contrast, but my poor eyes like brightly lit rooms for reading. 3. What's the weather going to be like for you today it's sprinkling now. 4. Think hard, do you think it's easy to be you? It's easier to be me than other people. My life is more complicated than it should be, but I suppose there are worse things. 5. Friday fill-in: My idea of heaven is the weekend. Happy Friday.
  4. Well, this post got my attention! lol. I'll have to look at it when I'm on a real computer.
  5. No salon. I never have time for it anyway.
  6. Happy Birthday, Linda!!!! I hope you have a special day with your friends and family.
  7. Oh, I love those songs. Thanks for sharing your evening, Beth. I feel like I was there. Your photos and clips are great. There's a lot of groovyness in the light show. Too cool. I'm glad you had fun.
  8. I've taken Excederin PM on occasion. It works when the cause is worries or stress. (I don't take it more than two nights in a row.) Sometimes a little Ibuprofen will work if pain is keeping me awake.
  9. I went to a movie about dragons with my daughter. I dug a lot of holes in the dirt and planted veggies. I planted a tomato plant upside down.
  10. It's cool that he had an opportunity to say something about his life given that he's so I'll.
  11. Probably backpacking all over Europe in my 20s.
  12. You just made me, and any medical professional, cringe. That doctor is either very wrong or he has some serious ethics issues. Yikes. Antibiotics will not cure a virus. Over-prescribing antibiotics will create resistances which can be detrimental to a person's ability to recover from other infections. . I guess they hired a quack so they can look good??????
  13. Thanks for posting this, Sharon. This is the first time I've seen the specifics of the health care plan. They have a lot of good elements. Preventive care will save states, companies and individuals a lot of money in health care costs. Looks like they're integrating some controls for potential medical care/cost abuses. And they are creating insurance exchanges. Sounds interesting. There's a lot there to prevent bankruptcy by illness. I'll look at this again after work.
  14. I have never understood why it is considered something worse than alcohol or cigarettes. And I'd love to see the criminal element disappear from Mendocino county. It should be legal here.
  15. No way. They said that? Did anyone ask them to support that claim?
  16. If people are saying that, they don't know what communism is. As Emmie said, Canada has national health care; they're not communist....lol I hope they are not saying it to scare people. If that's the case, they're spreading misinformation. I think they mean socialism.
  17. ^We have a complicated country, huh? Denise, Lawmakers know there's a coorelation between good heathcare and productivity -- that is a taxpayer's ability to generate income (taxable income.) I hope things work out for you.
  18. People don't want health care because no one has really explained what's going on. A lot of people have the perception that they are not paying for the health care of others, and people who have coverage don't want to pay more in taxes for health care. That's a big explanation that I've heard. They're wrong because everyone is already paying for the health care of the uninsured. When people can't pay their bills, health professionals, hospitals, facilities, etc. raise the cost of their services for the people who can pay, the insured. The cost of health care keeps going up because more and more people can't afford health insurance, and vice versa. Health care debt is a leading cause of bankruptcy in our country. I was talking about this with someone against the bill who insisted that people can't get away with bankruptcy because the laws changed. Jeezzz....If you have $100,000 in health care debt, you can't pay it no matter what the law says. You can’t get blood from a turnip. That's a big loss to the creditors -- banks, hospitals, credit card companies, auto loans, etc. In the same vein, when you have a health problem, you won't care what bills you run up if your life depends on it. People are going to go to their hospital ER rooms if they are sick. There obviously needs to be lower health care costs in our country. I don't know how the new bill is going to provide it for the people with minimal insurance. I worked for a Federally Qualified Health Care Center that provided health care to the "underinsured". They probably should expand on that system to provide for people who can't afford the higher priced doctors and medical care. I'm amazed that health care reform made its way through our political process. The problem with waiting for a better solution is that there won't ever be enough votes in congress for what people think is the best solution. I'm glad something passed. At least they can expand on it and make changes.
