How could a grocery clerk support a family and pay that bill? Well, If people are hit with this, they'll probably file bankruptcy... It wouldn't be the first time the music industry made it impossible to pay a bill...lol I wonder what net effect of this will be. They've paid a ton of money to their lawyers in an attempt to stop people who probably wouldn't have much impact on their bottom line. It will be interesting to see if all these suits change the music industry's financial situation. I bet.... not much.

^I know. The law is the law. But it wasn't the government, state or city who went after her. It was a business group that took her to court. They picked her and many others. If you look at it in terms of business, it doesn't make sense. She doesn't have much money, so they probably wouldn't have had her business anyway. Their argument about losing money because of file sharing is very weak if they're using her as an example of a customer. I'm sure she violated copyright law if she lost the suit. That's all the companies wanted -- a precedent. Now they can go after other people.

Well, settlements can be expensive, too. And if she doesn't have much money, she probably couldn't afford that. I don't know why they targeted her.
