  1. ^I know Canada has its problems. People like money....lol I've heard that it doesn't pay as well there, so people don't choose it as a profession... Thus you have a shortage of medical care providers. This is a concern for people considering national health insurance for our country. People aren't going to go through years of school and not get paid well...

  2. Well we have several local hospitals. I guess it depends what you're going in for but I would have to say that the standard of care has consistently declined over the years at the hospitals here. The bottom line for these corporations is money. That's it!

Don't even get me started on the emergency rooms. It's very sad, and I don't see it getting any better. I think perhaps the smaller the town you live in the better chance that you have a hospital with a somewhat decent standard of care. But sometimes even that's a crap shoot.

I live in a very small town, and it's as good as the doctor treating the patient. You're right; it's a crap shoot. I don't know what they're doing at our local hospital's ER. Apparently, they don't have enough people skilled at finding a vein for an IV or blood draw. Almost all of our critical care patients are phobic of needles after a stay there. The patients might be getting treatment, but the leave with phobias...WTF? This just started happening in the last year or so.
