Beth, I'm so sorry to read this. I saw the story on the news. Is this the boardwalk where you and Fred have your Monday night dates with pizza? The one with the gator? I'm so sorry...

My sincere sympathy, Nel. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved furbaby. (((HUGS)))

LOL! So funny, you guys! I wrote songs as a girl too, Sharon. I never wrote them down, but I would sing them often. I'm sure they were just as silly as yours, Sharon! LOL!

Rick, I'm ashamed to say I still haven't dug out my record player to listen to your LP. It's on my "Absolutely must do soon to-do list." I'm so very happy for you and your recording partner! It would be incredible if you recorded a follow-up album, and booked more live gigs! I couldn't make the gig you just had, but Chicago is so close, I would love to attend the next one! Congrats! Congrats!

I can't believe Mike's guitar series wasn't released on DVD/Blu-ray. I so hoped it would be.

Wow, Toni! I love your photos and stories! What an amazing trip you took!

I was getting ready for work and keeping an eye on the news. I had the Today show on, and I was aware that they had broken into the show with breaking news. I came over to see what the news was, and was shocked to hear that the World Trade Center had been hit by a plane. I was still watching when the second plane hit. Shaken, I went to work at the Red Cross. I told my co-workers what had happened. We turned on the news and watched as the towers fell. I felt like picking up my boys at school, and going home. We were needed at work though. We were told there might be countless survivors and injured, and the need for blood might be great. As the day went on, and for days afterward, people streamed in to donate blood and money to Disaster Services. We were extremely busy for the next week. When word came that there were few survivors, our blood supplies were way up, with few people needing it. Blood components that could be frozen were. I'm sure much blood expired and had to be discarded, precious as it is. It only lasts so long. Those first few days were surreal. I often had to stop, and close my door to cry. At home, I was riveted to the news, but eventually had to stop watching. I couldn't take the images being repeated over and over. It was so hard to explain to the boys what had happened. We talked of little else over the days that followed. Even though we lived far from the tragedy, it seemed close to home, too. I lost my feeling of being safe living in this country. It was so disturbing to know there were people in the world who hated our country so much...

Where were you 12 years ago today, and what were you doing on that dark day?
-
I didn't have dinner. I had shredded wheat for lunch. Not a nutritious day, but I lost 3 lbs.

Tom has sexy toes!

I love my apartment building, and all the new friends I'm making here!

Good luck on your training, Beth! I'm sure you could run many miles for Smokey!

Yes, I remember Michelle from the officials. How very tragic. RIP Michelle.

I said no, I can't imagine ever being able to afford one.

I had a really good time at the Brewers game, even though the team sucks. I don't like professional sports, anyway, but I enjoyed the friends, food, and the beautiful stadium!

Love the photo! Thanks Beth!

Awesome Rick! How exciting!

Tom has a dog too, right?

Yay, Rick! I saw that show was going on sale. I really debated. Have spent too much money, though, on redecorating my apartment.

Jay, Jay, Jay. Where do you get such weird ideas?
