  1. Fresh hamburger, not frozen. Medium rare on the grill. Lots of sauted onions. A good bun. No ketchup needed if the burger is really good and juicy.
  2. MLK, Jr. most meaningful for me because of the change it brought to the U.S.
  3. How does that happen, Doxiejoe? Is there any hope for a sloth like me?
  4. What year was that, conmae? I saw Dylan at the Arena. My boys would have loved to see Rush when we lived in GB. They just saw Rush at Summerfest.
  5. Ohhh, they are so sweet! Beautiful kitties. How lucky they are to have a loving home!!
  6. Happy Birthday Charlie T. Have a great day!
  7. 1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it? Tommy James (minus the Shondells) performed in our little town when I was a kid. He was very late and drunk. I felt sorry for him. p.s. I forgot Marvin Rainwater when I was really little. Anyone remember, "Gonna Buy Me a Bluebird"? 2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when? TPATH in Minneapolis in '08. 3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed? I've seen TPATH in concert nine times. They've always exceeded my expectations, because between tours I forget a little bit how absolutely amazing they are live, and how deeply it affects me. 4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em! I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw Arlo Guthrie in concert, but I really enjoyed the show. His family performed too, and it was fun. Again, Tommy James disappointed big-time. 5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza) TPATH, Mudcrutch, Bob Dylan with the Heartbreakers, Lucinda Williams with Mike on lead guitar, Neil Young and Crazy Horse. 6. Take this quiz How's Your Taste in Music? Your Taste in Music: Classic Rock: Highest Influence Nineties: High Influence Adult Alternative: Medium Influence Alternative Rock: Medium Influence Eighties: Medium Influence
  8. I don't believe in the death penalty, but I understand the desire for retribution. Life in prison, no chance for parole, would be my choice.
  9. I picked exercise, but I could use an addiction to cleaning, too.
  10. My dogs are being big whiny babies today. I can't do anything; they want all my attention. Irritating.
  11. Without Tom's anger driving him, we wouldn't have Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!
  12. Wow that's pretty cool. I may have to wait for Christmas, though.
  13. One more comment please: I've only been to one book reading, but the author was David Sedaris. He is great! Funny for sure, but also sweet and touching. He is one of my favorite writers, but nothing compares to hearing him read live.
  14. 1. Are you a fan of soup? I loooovvee soup! 2. What is your favorite kind of soup? Mulligatawny. I've never tried to make it myself, but it was one of the best things I ever tasted. 3. Are you a fan of nuts? Yep 4. What is your favorite kind of nut or dish containing nuts? I like eating nuts in the shell. It's always a Christmas thing. My favorites are filberts or hazel nuts (I think they're the same thing). 5. If you had to eliminate either soup or nuts from your diet for the rest of your life, which would you choose? I could live without nuts, but soup is essential to life.
  15. I sleep, eat soup and Jello, and drink tea with honey. If I'm awake at all, I watch mindless TV. Movies and books require too much brain power when I'm woozy and my head hurts.
  16. I love live theater. Before I got hooked on attending as many TPATH shows each tour as I could, I spent most of my entertainment dollars on theater tickets. I'm lucky to live so close to Minneapolis. They have great theater. More seats per capita than even NYC! The Guthrie Theater is the best, and they just built a beautiful new facility on the Mississippi. I haven't been there yet, but this thread reminds me that I should soon.
  17. nurk, what a sad experience you had. Remember you did what you had to. Your dad was not coming back, and you had to make the extremely tough call. You didn't take his life away; he was already gone. Your dad would have loved you for doing what you had to do despite the pain it caused you. Your family was fortunate to have you there to take the lead. I think what you did was right and very brave. My heart goes out to you.
  18. I've never seen Del Toro play a comedic role, so I chose him. He's such a wonderful actor, though, that he'll probably be great. It sounds like it might be a really good movie with such a talented and interesting cast!
  19. Good day, today. And "Lost" tonight!
  20. I had a big traditional church wedding with a dinner and dance reception. I loved everything about it except the minister (he had a Hitler mustache). If he had been at all gracious, I still would have liked him despite the ugly mustache.
  21. I have them pretty often, but not like Morgan or Linda *hugs*. Sometimes ibuprofen helps, sometimes it takes a day or two.
  22. I love my Farmer friends - thanks for your congratulations!
