  1. We don't know that the mother was ignoring the baby. It would be hard to focus on comforting the child when a strange man is threatening to hurt the baby. No matter what the circumstances, if someone laid their hands on my child, I would have grabbed something hard out of my cart and beat the hell out of that creep.
  2. "The Live Anthology" (is that pathetic?)
  3. About the same. We have fewer mosquitoes this summer with the cool weather, I think.
  4. Again from the officials: TPHBInfo Hey Everyone, We're thrilled to hear all the positive response to the upcoming Live Anthology release. We had wanted to get you guys the news first but Rolling Stone unexpectedly beat us to the punch. This info will be posted on the brand new TomPetty.com, also launching at 11am PST/2pm EST tomorrow. 5. I probably won't read it. The first book didn't interest me.
  6. I said equal, just as long as it isn't me.

This is it, the live album we've been hearing about for so long!!! Sounds like a great set too, with the reviewer (David Fricke) commenting that it is "peppered with surprises" including rarites, covers, and alternate renditions of the familiar hits. The 4-disc set is said to be due in early November and cost only $25, which is more than fair in my opinion, though I do have some gripes about an alternate "deluxe package" costing close to $100 (it includes a 5th disc, plus an LP from 1976 live shows, and a blu-ray disc in "super-high fidelity"). It might actually be worth the money, but I for one cannot afford it... Regardless, I am super excited for this and thought I'd share it in case any of you haven't heard about it yet..." 11. I love to stargaze, but I don't have a telescope.
  12. pictures, poems, report cards...
  13. I hope our summer here in Wisconsin starts in September, otherwise we missed it.
  14. I said pretty fun, depending who went with me. I'm not a gambler, but looking around and eating there is fun.
  15. My thoughts are with those here dealing with the fires in CA - so scary.
  16. We had sweet corn and pulled pork sandwiches for dinner. I'm thinking I've had enough corn for the season.
  17. Definitely worse. The rich would have all the advantage, not the big fans.
  18. I watched High Sierra with Humphrey Bogart on TCM . I had always avoided it because I thought it was a western! I just finished Dicken's Great Expectations. I'm plowing through a pile of Dickens books my son gave me for Mothers Day, and loving it. Before that one, I read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, a Swedish writer. I don't think I ever read a book set in Sweden before - very interesting, and pretty good mystery.
  19. I am "occasionally offensive", which sounds about right.
  20. I hope you had the best of birthdays, Liz
  21. I'd be in San Diego with my son and his fiance (They'd want Mom along, wouldn't they?). We haven't had much of a summer here in Wisconsin - it's been like fall
  22. I generally don't care for rock or pop (or country!) artists' Christmas albums, but this one is in the spirit of the season, so I'll buy it. I guess it will be interesting, anyway. It would be great if he'd use Tim's song suggestions.
