We don't know that the mother was ignoring the baby. It would be hard to focus on comforting the child when a strange man is threatening to hurt the baby. No matter what the circumstances, if someone laid their hands on my child, I would have grabbed something hard out of my cart and beat the hell out of that creep.

I watched High Sierra with Humphrey Bogart on TCM . I had always avoided it because I thought it was a western! I just finished Dicken's Great Expectations. I'm plowing through a pile of Dickens books my son gave me for Mothers Day, and loving it. Before that one, I read Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, a Swedish writer. I don't think I ever read a book set in Sweden before - very interesting, and pretty good mystery.

I am "occasionally offensive", which sounds about right.

I generally don't care for rock or pop (or country!) artists' Christmas albums, but this one is in the spirit of the season, so I'll buy it. I guess it will be interesting, anyway. It would be great if he'd use Tim's song suggestions.
