Lisa, I hope to ease your mind a bit here. A LOT of people are without power still and they are being told it may take up to TWO weeks for it to be restored. I know of a few people that were told this. Hang in there! Thanks Patty! Heard from my friend in MD last night, but still waiting on my friend in NJ...hopefully soon! You did ease my mind
.Glad everyone is still okay! I always hate and worry when storms hit and my friends are in the path of them. Mother Nature sure has a way of waking us all up, lol.
-
LMAO!!
-
Glad you all are okay, was getting pretty worried about the east coast looking at TV and seeing it all!! Still haven't heard from friend in NJ or MD... I hope it's just their power is out still since they haven't checked in yet
. -
What was he thinking????
-
I always loved his music, even way back in the day. He was born and raised in Delight just a few miles south of here and our state is so proud of him. Sorry to hear this news about his disease....my thoughts are with him and his family as they all go thru this.
-
I wish we would hear from Beth soon too! Mom called and said my step brother in Maine and my cousin in NYC are fine, but I also have 2 other friends that aren't members of the Farm that live up in NJ and MD and haven't heard from them, hope they are doing okay as well.
Glad to hear you made it thru it all okay, Patty and that Nancy and Ellyn are okay too, it's a sigh of relief!!

I'm gonna say "depends on the situation" ..if I'm going out somewhere, underwear....around here at the house, no underwear. Good thing I didn't say just "depends"...LOL!
-
Well, I'll be in the bunch to say don't have a first aid kit either, lol.... but have most of the other things like flashlights, lanterns, batteries and a coleman stove with butane bottles, and extra water, the lights always, most of the time, go out. I stock up on all those things. Only place to go would be the tub too.....but have consider getting a storm cellar built cuz of the close call we had last spring with the tornadoes. Husband needs to cut a few big trees around the house as well.

Just heard on TV, a man in NC was feeding his pets and a tree fell on him and killed him
...sooo very sad! Thought of your Gov's message Beth and saw people driving on TV in VA, WHY are these people OUTSIDE in this???!! Doesn't make sense to me.... -
^^ LOL Benny,!!
^ Oooh Beth, love the one in the middle!

They're saying now the hurricane is a CAT 1 and will be on up the coast but they're just predicting that, by the time Ike got here it was a CAT 1 or 2, but the winds were sooo bad that damage was widespread
. We were out for days and my friends trailer fireplace pipe was ripped off and blown away, and some trailers were even lifted off their blocks and moved, even my little house was swaying!...we also had huge trees down on the road and we couldn't get out of here cuz of them and the rivers overflowing, no one going in nor out!!!I'll sure be glad when this weekend is over for everyone!!
-
^ lol, Beth I saw him say that....he meant it too!!!

-
Just wanted to add, hubby said last night and it made me think, but he reminded me of Hurricane Ike that went thru here, we are at least 600 or so miles NE from where it hit the TX coastline and we had 90 mph winds when it arrived here
. That is what worries me about Irene, last night the weather channel was saying that this hurricane might be as bad or worst than Ike was!!! I'll be worrying about all of you, my friends, so please be safe! I also have family up that way in NYC and a step brother in Maine. -
Happy Birthday!! Enjoy!

I voted no but if they can fit in them and still look nice, I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't like 'em really "tight" looking on men.
