Uh, ok. Well now I have two posts. I found this site by searching google, and it looked like a fun place to talk about my favorite band. And I recognized this story about the poster, and enjoyed the links and got a good laugh again out of that guys good fortune. I didn't expect to get this kind of reception.

I thought it would be good manners to not start a new thread in a forum that I am a new member in, but to read a lot of posts and make comments on existing threads, so that people can get to know me. I sure hope others aren't going to bite my head off like that. There is a new thread about the signed guitar on ebay, and I was thinking about saying something nice about how great Mike and his wife are to help animals in need, but I think I will pass.

I just wanted to introduce myself a little bit. Did I do something wrong? I don't think I used any profanity or attacked anyone? Is there a rule in the forum agreements that I did not follow? I will admit that I did not read it when I checked accept, but I thought if I just act like a decent person and kept conversation positive, I wouldn't run into any problems. From what I have read in other posts, I have not seen any other people getting yelled at. So either this is a rough place and I didn't realize it, or I have done something wrong.

Could somebody fill me in?

I am from Mobile, and that story about the guy selling the poster and getting the Harley made the local news from what I remember. But it has been a year or so. From what I can tell, he hasn't killed himself on that motorcycle yet, or I would have heard about that on the news too!

Sure wish I could have found that Jefferson Wood Tom Petty poster. I dabble in collecting gig posters. I grew up in Newberry, which is right next to Gainesville, so I have always been a big TP&THB fan. I sure know I can't afford that poster now.

Besides maybe an original Mike Campbell or Tom Petty owned guitar, or maybe some original master recordings or something, that poster is probably the rarest and most valuable Tom Petty historical item that I can think of.
