I don't have any around right now. I have a few stuck back for emergencies, lol! I consider a lot of those things more stuff to dust.

That's a tough one....I like both.....or sometimes one or the other strikes me most. Depends on my mood and the type of music. I may fall in love with a sound, a riff, a beat...but I still want to hear the words. Lyrics are modern poetry that the music accompanies. It is like loving a poem when you love a lyric. Music is music and that is a different feeling and a different art. But they are both art and it is like asking do you like sculpture or paintings......All I do know is when they both come together and the perfect lyrics have the perfect music.....that's magical!!

I enjoyed watching some of the show. The dogs are gorgeous! I love seeing all the different breeds.

I agree. My ex-husband just lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He did two rounds of chemo - the first was milder and not too bad. The second round-he couldn't eat and was sick all the time. As he says -- bought him 6 months, but he wasn't able to do anything much. There are some forms of chemo that are successful...but if there is not a chance that I could do a round and it would extend my life several years....what is the point. Let it be......enjoy the time left.

Sleet and Hail

Oh farmers!!! maybe we need to have a thread where we tell what we are greatful for....I'm getting depressed. It just seems like I am paddling like hell, but am still in the same place!

Popcorn if I really have to have something.....but I try not to eat after dinner too. can't afford the calories...

I have done a lot of research in this area. My first husband was an addiction counselor. There is documented data on the both physical and psychological as well as spiritual aspects. The spiritual part is a belief in something greater than yourself...not necessary a religious connotation. On a cellular level...there is actually the cell's ability to have "memory" and remembers the chemical, so that when an alcoholic does not drink for a long time, and then 10 years later takes a single drink....the memory kicks in and the desire and effects are as if the alcoholic had continued to drink all that time. That is why someone can be sober for 10 years, drink again and within 3 months die from the effects of alcoholism...because technically the cells will progress as if no lapse had occurred. It is a very interesting field. There is also the psychological aspect that will lead to an increased tendency to dependance on anything really. There is also a proven connection between addiction and inheritance....and a greater tendency to develop addiction problems that runs in families. The scientist in me finds is all facinating, but the fact that it is a three-fold problem makes it so difficult to treat. Of course, the stigma attached to any issue that has the least bit of psychological connection makes the disease much harder to treat as well. Hopefully, one day we will move beyond "just say no" and "why don't you have any willpower" to seeing it as a true disease and begin approaching the person as someone with a real illness that needs medical help.

Typical...the Grammys have become a farce. I don't watch it anymore and refuse to support the tone deaf industry that wouldnt know a true artist if it hit them on the head.

Music videos of your choosing....it would have a selection button where you can choose your favorite artists...or cartoons like we had at the movie when I was a kid (pink panther, foghorn leghorn...stuff like that).
