  1. We are having the first cool snap of the year...highs only 78 expected. It was cool when I left the house this morning.
  2. Pick a band (EXCEPT TPATH), hehehehe!1. Why did you pick this band? Eagles -cause they were so big in the 70s 2. What is your favorite song by this band? Desperato, Hotel California, and so many more 3. Who is your favorite band member in this band? Don Henley 4. Have you ever seen this band live? Yes, twice 5. What album/cd is your favorite by this band? Hard to say...just didn;t like the last one 6. Quote a line from one of this band's songs - what does it mean to you? "You better let somebody love you, before it's too late". A message to stop being such an island and let people into my life.
  3. They are beautiful, but not common in my neck of the woods.
  4. I used to love Charlie Brown and Dagwood. Garfield is great too. I LOVED Mad magazine...do they still publish it?
  5. ^ I hope to learn enough to do my own Barb! But if I learn anything helpful, I will share. I have been a healthcare worker (lab scientist) and a teacher...so I guess bean counter is next. I would love to have professional training as a cook. I can cook fairly well now, but do not have the professional flair....mostly just southern, comfort foods. I married a mechanic who can do carpentry, electrical work, painting and anything else I need after I owned a home on my own, lol! He needed a cook and I needed a handyman -- marriage made in heaven! 15 years and still going strong...
  6. I picked convertible because I have never had one.
  7. Haven't for awhile now. Used to love Dilbert.
  8. 1. Does the rain make you feel blue? Not an occasional rainy day...but if it lasts for a week or so...YES! 2. Do you find that rain ruins or improves your day? Depends on what I have to do. Makes my arthritis flare up...so it can make my day worse. 3. Have you ever danced/splashed/ran in the rain? Absolutely!! 4. What do you like to do on rainy days? Nothing....just veg out with a good book or a movie. 5. Do you save for "rainy days"? Yes. I like to have a cushion and have security issues, I guess.
  9. Cooking. However I am about to take a class on tax preparation.
  10. Haven't dressed up in years. When I lived in the city and had trick or treaters, I used to dress up as a witch. I used my college graduation gown as a dress since it has long tapered sleeves. It was fun. Now we live in the boonies and there is no need for costumes.
  11. Every two weeks. I don't eat bread so it lasts a long time. I go to the store for other stuff about once a week...sometimes twice if I forget what I went there for the first time.....
  12. Yes, he forgot too...so I guess we go dutch Nurk! We got a good laugh over it. Thanks Beth. I love any place with lots of books. Loved going to the library when I was a kid...it had a smell that was special...all those wonderful books. I hope technology does not make them obsolete. I still love the feel and smell of a new book and open it with excitement and anticipation of the mysteries that lie within it.
  13. Guess what? Yesterday was my 15th wedding anniversary. Guess when I realized it? Just now when my husband called and asked me if yesterday was anything special. Geez! I could have at least asked for a dinner date or something.
  14. No. I think you make your own path by decisions you make. I do think nature has a lot to do with personality, but nurture contributes too.
  15. ^yep a good one Liz! Joe will get a grammy for sure!
  16. Oh dear! Another one gone....
  17. Would either take them to a seafood restaurant with local catch, or make a low country boil at home with local catch. Low country boil is sausage, shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, some add rutabagas or cabbage...all boiled together with cajun seasonings and crab boil. The white shrimp will come from the water off the GA coast and would be caught by us on that same day. Can't get any fresher than that! Of course, I don't eat seafood....but most folks seem to think it is really special.
  18. ^ that is a good question. like marilyn monroe...they are forever young in our memories,,,and they are not quite complete in their impact on the world.
  19. ^Me too Susan! They did schedule two shows on the weekend of my birthday trek to CA to see the knobs so it can happen. What a wonderful birthday present it was too! the best present I have had since the bike I got when I turned 4, lol!
  20. Me too Sharon! Sometimes I cannot find a comfortable spot all night. do not sleep as well as I used to, which affects my attitude in the am...however, send me to CA for a knobs show and the adrenaline kicks in and I need very little sleep to be happy to be alive!
  21. Had a cold snap today! temps were in 70s most of the day...rising into the 80s by afternoon. These 50 degree cold mornings are welcomed. It has been a hot summer. Leaves are beginning to fall from the pecan trees...when they are bald...we know winter is upon us.
