  1. I love living in the south because people are polite and easy going (for the most part). I love that we live near the GA coast where we can do boating, beach walking, dolphin watching, etc. I also have learned to appreciate the great Okefenokee Swamp nearby. The weather is beautiful most of the time. We have only had about two nights below freezing so far this winter.

But I do love California too...it's not like anyplace else.

  2. ^Mike Campbell says they are working on a plan for a venue in New York (similar to the Fillmore run). He says they are planning smaller venues and are playing a festival or two. Did not mention any "tour".

The Highway Companion Club had the same old 2012 stuff on their for renewal. I posted a question to HELP several times since my membership needed renewing about the fact that it was still saying 2012. Never got a response. Finally I just renewed anyway. Now they have posted this message. It is just a response to my question really. They are updating their renewal site and offering a new "freebie" for membership. They may have a place to purchase tickets for the various shows, but I wouldn't expect an all out tour.

  3. I love museums too. The last one was probably the Natural History Museum in Chicago. I did see the Smithsonians many years back and was totally in a trance. A co-worker/friend was with me. She loved the science museum (since we are lab scientists), but when we went into the art museum...she wanted to leave in about 5 minutes. I was standing spellbound in front of a Rembrandt painting with my jaw dropped down (the colors are so vibrant, not at all like pictures in a book). Needless to say, I did not get to spend the time I wanted to there. I would love a chance to return and spend as long as I like.

PS...was very disappointed in the "Hope diamond" ...didn't impress me.

  4. I KNOW Barb! My students were talking about the "Moonshiners" show on TV now and one asked, "Isn't moonshining illegal? How do they get away with it?" I replied, "Do you think those shows are REAL? Do you not think the cops would see the big lights, trucks, etc of a TV crew in the woods?" The whole class looked at me like I had three heads. College kids think reality shows are REALITY!

It is so sad to see how really ignorant and easily lead people have become.....no wonder other countries think we are infidels...all they see of us is our TV shows.
