  1. Do we really need it ? Sounds like alot of crap to me. Now you "have" to buy or upgrade.
  2. This could open a whole new can of worms !! Imagine asking someone you don't like to stay the night and sleep on the couch !! I thought my having a sore back from sleeping on the couch was bad enough !!
  3. My grandparents and parents used alot of home remedy's that they used for years. Before the term "alternative" came popular. I can remember my grandfather using pepper on bacon, wrapped around your neck with a warm clothe for sore throats, or my father using a hankerchief soaked in vinegar wrapped tightly around your forehead for headache relief, or vinegar, water and sugar for a thirst clinching drink during the summer heat. Or I can remember my father blowing smoke into my ears for an earache, then putting a cotton ball in the hole to keep the heat in. All the above seemed to work. I think we as a nation need to explore these treatments, to save on the cost of medicines. Its becomming a lost art for people to care for theirselves.
  4. I got a DVD player which I didn't know about it. That was nice as the old one could not read some DVD's.
  5. I would like to be able to give hope to those who need it.
  6. I've seen it ( plantation ) on a boot of the VHS tape. check out amazon or ebay or google tom petty bootlegs. I found several dvd's that way. I'm going to order one from 1982 soon ( US concert I believe). I had a friend of mine make copies of some Paul Revere & Raiders CD's that I didn't have yet. I got some cash and I am going to order some bootlegs. Taking back a unwanted shirt for some cash too.
  7. I Caroled once before, then her old man found out so I stopped........no I don't think they do this anymore...not around here, did it in high school and once with a church group, but not a big fan of it then or now ( although it was a neat way to meet women ) !!
  8. I like it for research, finding words/chords to oldies that my band can play, you tube, i like those video's and people post songs so I can hear 'em to see if they band can do em or not. I enjoy talking here and keeping up with how everyone is, plus getting my email. But if there was no internet, I would just exist as I had before.
  9. Found it from 1963 a book from the UK......John talks about not wanting to get old, Ringo talks about fame, George talks about girls and fame, Paul......how having an atom bomb is not right....and he didn't need religion, but might need it when he gets older !!
  10. Hey I think the Beachboys covered that one live around 70/71 that might be on you tube ?

  14. the younger generation has always used its 'music' to 'torture' its parents and visa/ versa.......from Elvis to the beatles.....etc. Lawrence Welk to Jack Jones.....whoever. Its funny that people would be offended by something so old !!
  15. I got stuck on ice today, through no fault of my own......the snow plow had put a about a foot of snow in front of the drive and the ice that came after the snow made for one good barrier.....and traffic kept me from gunning across it....so with pick and shovel I finally broke through....yippee...feel pretty good now...but my hands and back hurt.....and my legs too !!
  16. Well its better than buying one that comes with a magnifying glass !! I think more women would buy these kind than men. Could be some kind of sexy thing for some. maybe there's a surgeon general warning on the side of the package " Beware of shrinkage"

  21. Better a gift card to Gtr center or Barnes & Nobels,Best Buy, than a shirt that doesn't fit. I'm always taking one item back from a gift exchange, if only people would ask that holiday question "What would YOU like".
  22. Gosh, in our town the only 'street' performers are charities asking for money, and they just stand there.
  23. He use to say he was against the war all the time, especially in interviews round '66. I don't think any "pop" star in a rock n roll group was for the war. Remember Carl Wilson even went to court to fight being drafted. That was in '67. The democrats had alot of people fooled that the war was going to be won. Johnson and the others had fooled the american people big time. Alot of "pop" stars talked against the war. But in Lennon's case, he took a more "visual" stance after leaving his wife and child and taking up with his lover. Today's perception comes from history sort of being changed just a little bit, year after year until younger generations totally believe one illusion. One would have to "study" the interviews of the era ( 1966- 1968 pre yoko ) and then make their decision. Its neat though, having been there when it actually was going on, and then over 40 years later seeing how things and perceptions have changed. It makes me wonder about how accurate other "events" of our history are.
