  1. Whenever someone says "the first "black" president " we have not traveled the road far enough......we don't say "the first German president", the first "Irish president".

To many people think of "race" as being just black. But there are many blacks who don't like mexicans, orientals, arabs, whites. Most people still don't like anyone who is different be it opinions, looks, etc. Will there ever be a black prime minister from England ? A black president of Mexico ? of Korea ? Russia ? I believe Dr. King, wanted equality, not special treatment like affirmative action, and things that reward people for being a certain way. I've been treated unfairly just being white and being a male. But that's okay I guess, because supposedly I get all the advantages in life.

I still meet people who have accepted Obama because he's not really "all black" he's 50% white. I believe Dr.King wanted all people to be judged by their accomplishments, which with the little time that he was in congress, Obama has yet stacked up a string of accomplishments. He talks a good talk though, and only time will see if he can truly deliver. But I've seen his look in other people, I've known in my life, and to me it's the look that he's in way over his head, and he knows it, but if he smiles, looks cool, talks a good talk, than most people will believe him. So many want to believe.

  2. I've been offered a few jobs around town as an accoustic solo act to do during the week when my group is not working. Did my second guest gig last week and had alot of fun doing Dylan, some Petty, and Elvis !! Plus through in some originals. I've already have a booking agent, so I'm hoping the gigs will come soon. ( at least twice a month ). The funny thing is the money is really, really good !! Also there seems to be alot of clubs going to a solo performer, at least in this area. (nw ohio).

  3. My group, Flyte '66 will be sponsoring a special 50's dance in Toledo, Ohio, this Saturday, Jan.17, from 10 Pm to 2 am at Ladies Choice, 1637 Broadway. There will be hourly trivia contests and we are encouraging all to dress in the 50's style. We will be featuring the music of Buddy, the big bopper, Ritchie Valens, Dion, Elvis, and many other 50's acts.

I hope some local farmers will make it out.

  4. I saw him on TV today. He sounded sincere. His ex was at the end of a list of 1,400 people. He stepped up and donated his kydney. She got hurt in an accident and started having an affair with the physical therapist. She's trash, isn't she ? Or do we now say adultery is okay ? Sure he can't get the kydney back, but she should have to pay him something, or maybe the adulterer should pay ? Who knows ? How would the muslim world handle this, since the christian world has now adopted adultery as okay ? This opens up a whole new can of worms for debate and organ giving. What if you gave your organ and the reciever was someone who had murdered your child ?
