  1. i've been so...........busy lately, I haven't had a chance to visit here, but I wanted to tell everyone that a few weeks ago my band played a gig in Port Clinton, Ohio, and they asked for alot of TP ( and just by chance the local radio station was having a Tom Petty weekend !!! ) and just by chance we had just started doing "mary jane's last dance" the week before !!! One guy in the audience got excited when I opened up my gtr case and took out my Rickenbacker 12 string, so it was that kind of night.

We are going back in August (they wanted us in June and July too, but we had those nights booked elsewhere ). Also we just booked the biggest car cruise show in our area for June 1st. So life is getting better ( never slow down, never grow old ). LOL

  2. Last night ? I was lucky I got close to 9, but since Friday ( Up at 2:30 AM, went to work, came home at 2PM, slept from 4pm to 7:45pm, got ready went to sing in the band, got home at 2AM, slept from 2:30am to 3:45am, went to work, worked from 5am to 12:30 PM, got home round 2PM, went to bed at 9:45PM, got up ( for a day off, at 6:45 am ). And now I'm not sure what day it is !! LOL

  3. I think if you were playing with them, it would be the guy you got along with best.

I've played with some really good players but they were a**holes, and I've worked with some not good players, but they were nice, so it was easier to play with them.

The perfect combo is when they are nice and are also great players. Sort of like the guys that I'm working with now.

I think Steve would be easier to get along with, from what the guys have said,

But as far as drumming goes, it sounds like they each play what the song calls for.

  4. I love "walls" so I have to like that CD for that reason.

My least favorite one is probably "let me up" or "Southern Accents", and I think after that TP was ready to do his solo thing, join the Wilbury's and I think the band was just a bit burned out. I think they came back strong with "Into the great wide open", but by then, the band was just different, in attitude, and its amazing they stayed together, since some of them didn't care for that CD. In interviews I think they all sound a bit put off by something around that time. Maybe just Tom and Stan's growing problems, and Howie's personal problems.

  5. Morgan, Sorry to hear about your Grandma. I lost my first one when I was 13 ( 1968), and I still dream about her. "Hey Jude" had just come out, and that song help me to get on with life by taking a 'sad song and make it better", which I still try to do in most things I come up against today. We've just lost a cousin and a second cousin in the past 6 weeks. The cousin was a vietnam vet,( lost part of his leg by saving his friends ) to cancer at age 61, and the second cousin was only 44, to pancreas cancer, just last week.

  6. There's far to many unhappy people in the world ( you should see some of the mugs I work with, they smile about as much as Mt. rushmore, and they always talk about how much they hate their work ) that a few happy ones I can deal with. Remember the smile you send out returns.
