I love that hound dog with his long jowls and ears....

jawalla and NIghtdriver - thank you so much for posting the highlights. I couldn't jump on. Too old to Twitter...and needed to make dinner. Thank you for taking your time to let us in on what happened.

Steve Buscemi is an amazing actor, but our dear Tom is so much more handsome. But, I can understand why Tom would choose him, he would so become Tom. He might just need a bit of make-up.

I also hope they don't price the tickets out of a reasonable range. Last tours tickets, I believed, pushed the outer bounderies of ticket prices for the close seats.

Has anyone ever been to a concert at Piazza Napoleone in Lucca? I absolutely love Lucca and the surrounding countryside. I climbed one of the towers in Lucca on a Sunday morning. Behind me was a men's choir. When they reached the top they started singing Ave Marie...tears came to my eyes as I listened and marveled at the Tuscan countryside.

^Have you ever been to New Orleans Softanimal? It's truly an experience....

I'm happy they are touring...and they are going to in U.S. cities with direct flights for me (sorry for being selfish). This is an exciting day....and eventhough I won't get to as many shows as last 2010, I am excited to see their beautiful faces, their grins...and to hear some of my favorite music...Let's hope for more deep tracks, more guitar solos....more time for Benmont to shine on those keys....Yes, Yes, Yes...This is so great!

It doesn't seem like there are enough breaks in the tour yet...but I'm just thinking about potential fatigue -- Also, getting everything from Lucca to Mannheim in 24 hours - seems a bit rushed. Plus that Mannheim booking seems a bit out of place on the map.....They seem to be backtracking south to north than back south.... (That is what happend last time before they rearranged.)

^And Lizzie - if Brent doesn't want to go to a show anywhere around Houston just let me know...Most of my friends are writers and they don't get my obsession with music....and especially my ueber-obsession of the Heartbreakers, and Tom, of course.

Congrats on the job -- they are hard to come by. Wishing you great things in 2012.

I love that logo - I need to start embroidering it...

Cool - they inevitably will be touring this summer.

I print out most of my stuff at work.....so whatever the office manager buys...Aren't I terrible????

It was a fun show. I like to sit upstairs at Dosey Doe - usually the sound is better after it mixes in the air and bounces off the barn's wooden planks. That night I walked in during the sound check - watching how meticulously the Watkins want their music to sound. Unfortunately, the sound guy at Dosey Doe didn't get all the intricacies -- But Sarah's voice rang like a bell, accentuated by her brother's harmonies. Both are such amazing musicians, their fingers are fun to watch. But, the Blind Boys were truly the stars of the show -- what voices, what spirit!!! During one of their song, "Way Down in the Hole" the "Blind Boys" were singing about keeping the devil in the hole and our corked wine bottle fell from our table and down from the balcony, hitting a server below....we hadn't even touched the table and boom! We were laughing that it had to be the devil since it sure wasn't us. Hey Lizzie if you ever want to go to Dosey Doe and you need someone to go with...just let me know.

LIVE! Nothing like it on this earth.

I saw the Blind Boys of Alabama and Sara and Sean Watkins and few weeks ago. The Blind Boys were amazing...beautiful voices and such spirit. Their tour manager is a doll. I loved the show.

Since the kids will be the other side this year we are keeping it small, so I'm thinking about splurging on lobster tails or sea bass.

HEADLINING SHOW AT THE ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL ON JUNE 22ND
somewheredowntheroad replied to LizzieB's topic in The Waiting
Sounds like a good excuse to go to Europe this summer. -
I had my routine mammogram this morning. So hopefully nothing until 2012.

This year I'm only having to do minimal shopping since the kids are grown and need money for groceries, not XBOX games. I miss it - but right now making a payment on the student loan or buying heating oil seems a bit more important. But, it isn't any fun.
