Louisiana Rain is easily one of the best tracks the band has ever done and one of their most underrated. It's a great country-rock ballad that ends the amazing Damn the Torpedoes on a high note. For an album that is as unabashedly a full steam ahead rock album like You're Gonna Get It!, the change in tone is a welcome but also fits the albums motif perfectly. It's such a great blend of rock, country and some new-wave sounds with the opening and some of the engineering and production on the track. Not only that, it's has great lyrics that paint a vivid image in the mind of the listeners with great tinges of Dylan in how the verses are set up. If anything, it's a sign of great story songs to come down the line from TP.
Fantastic and I'll leave it at that.
