OK, so this is a little embarassing, because A I started this thread and B we've already had some great versions of Mary Jane, but what the heck. Here's our "version". We hadn't done it in a long time, but March was our first concert since Tom passed away, so I just had to do it.
Oh, and our name is not KiSH, as one might assume, but Giftwood. Enjoy! ;-)

I'm inclined to believe that Mike only did this because Stevie begged him to.  FM wanted to tour and Lindsey didn't want to, so they were stuck.

I guess the red sox also played "I wont back down" after the Yankees / sox brawl yesterday.  LOL

The new guitar arrived at Pittsburgh Guitars yesterday afternoon from Santa Ana, CA. Pitt guitars opened it to make sure it was perfect and then had their guitar tech do a final setup. They then double packed it and it's now at UPS on it's way to me. They guarantee it will be here tomorrow 4/5/18 and upgraded me to free shipping. UPS usually gets here about 1:30-2pm. Really looking forward to getting it and try with my Vox Beatle amp!!!

According to Rolling Stone, one of TP's final interviews appears in the forthcoming Elvis doc:
The new two-part HBO documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher (which premieres April 14th) aims to finally restore the King to his proper place in the rock pantheon as a creative pioneer on par with Chuck Berry, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. Directed by Thom Zimny and produced by Jon Landau and Priscilla Presley, it tells Elvis' life story through his music, utilizing a treasure trove of unseen video, photographs and new interviews with his friends, collaborators and fans, including Bruce Springsteen and, in one of his final interviews, Tom Petty. "I wanted to attack and shatter the shorthand version of Elvis Presley's life story – that after the Army there was just bad films, bad recordings, bad tours and then his life was over," says Zimny. "This was a man driven by music, even at his darkest times."

That was awesome, thanks!  Never seen this before.

He was there from the start, helping to get airplay for their records, and Stanley vouches for him.  That's good enough for me.  I'll read it.

I just ordered a new guitar! It's a double neck 6/12 string. I checked most guitar shops around and no one had one in stock, so I almost ordered from the USA distributor in Santa Ana, CA. I decided to call Pittsburgh Guitars and they don't have it either, but they called Santa Ana and they only have 1 which is packed and ready to go to a rep somewhere in the USA. IF I wanted it, I had to get it within 1 hour before they shipped it. Pitt asked the company about price and optional case and called me back within 15 minutes. I got a better price and a free gig bag (They don't make a hard shell case). So, I got this guitar for $1395 with free gig bag. Guitar should arrive in Pittsburgh by Tuesday, and then they will call me to see if it's better for me to pickup (no shipping cost), but pay tax or pay shipping with no tax. OH, BTW my new guitar in an Italia Ramini Twin Double Neck Guitar in Cherry Sunburst. Check out the pix on the Italia site:

Great news, TomFest!!! Isn't this Felix's 11th straight opening day start?
I won't be at opening day anywhere, but at least I did make it to spring training this year; I was sick the last TWO years.
I swear I will get to Safeco Field someday (almost did in 2015). Although I've been to nearly 30 MLB parks, several of them have since been demolished, so there are many that are still on my list. If all goes well, we may make it to Comerica Park, Progressive Field, and PNC Park in June. We have to go out to the East coast for a wedding anyway, so hopefully we can make a vacation out of it.

We're going to the Mariners opener Thursday night.  Felix is pitching.  They always give the big refrigerator magnet schedules on opening day.  Our 2nd fridge in the garage is covered in them on 2 sides.

I just realized that today is the 40th anniversary of one of my all time favorite rock and roll road-trips - down from Seattle to L.A. in my jalopy of a '65 Dodge Dart for Cal Jam 2 at Ontario Motor Speedway.  Aerosmith, Heart, Dave Mason, Foreigner on their first tour, Santana, Terrible Ted, and more.  A great day of music.
Too bad Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers didn't play that show.  They started a west coast tour about 3 weeks after Cal Jam 2, so it seems like they would have been available.  Probably just not well-known enough quite yet to get into that kind of a show.
