  1. R&R. Not the booze, the rehab and recovery. I'm laying low for the next couple of weeks.
  2. Well worth celebrating! Congratulations, Benny!
  3. Thanks everyone - I got a new titanium hip for my birthday. For sure the most expensive gift I ever received. I'll be dancing to TPATH again before you know it!
  4. Yes, my wife I did a mystery dinner train once, and it was a lot of fun. We didn't guess the killer but we drank a lot of wine!
  5. Cheese is a given, and I'll take sausage please.
  6. That would be a good question to ask Mike. I'd have to go with the old Fender Broadcaster, although his recently acquired '59 Les Paul is also amazing.
  7. I used to have tons of colored vinyl and picture discs, but sold most of my vinyl some years back. Coincidentally, I just took apart my old turntable, and cleaned and lubed it, and now it's working perfectly again. I finally got to hear the Dirty Knobs 45. They rock!

    Sunday joke

    OK, that made me laugh.
  9. These clips are so cool, I just wish they were longer. Mike should play a song for us on each guitar or something. Wouldn't it be nice to wander into the Rickenbacker factory and just have them build you 2 or 3 custom guitars on the spot? I know people that have waited several years for a guitar ordered from the Rickenbacker factory.
  10. Nurk - I know some people that worked for many years for Rickenbacker back in the day. If you want, we can show them some detailed photos of your "315" and get some expert opinions.
  11. Very cool. You guys are Rickenbacker fiends!! I want a 610, but they seem to be scarce.
  12. Also took Spanish in high school, but that has been many years. I wish I spoke it fluently, but I must be a 2, at best now.
  13. Red also - "Candy Apple Red" to be exact.
  14. An impossible job to pick from over 200 great songs, but I'll have to go with the first Beatles album in America - Meet The Beatles - and either "I Want To Hold Your Hand" or "I Saw Her Standing There". Pop perfection.
  15. June in Seattle was below normal temperatures for most of the month and typically cloudy/rainy most of the time. We rarely saw the sun in June. Summer doesn't usually start until mid-July here. But with the entire state of Colorado on fire, and the entire state of Florida underwater, and most of the rest of the nation in a heat-wave, I won't complain about what we have.
  16. Just work, and oh yeah - a hip replacement surgery next week. Ouch. I guess I am taking a week off after that, but you can't really call that a vacation. I will be pleasantly stoned on narcotics though. So there's that.
  17. I noticed it on the Isle of Wight footage. His left hand is really shaky. Let's hope it passes.

    The Avengers

I thought it was right up there with the best "superhero" movies of all time. I really enjoyed it.
  19. Maybe 30 years ago, but not now. Concert films only at this point.
  20. No, my vinyl days are behind me. I had over a thousand albums and sold 95% of them several years ago. I kept a small number, but I don't have a working turntable. I bought the Knobs 45 and have still never heard the songs.
  21. I immediately thought of Buddy Holly also. He was a huge influence on me in getting into playing guitar. After "The Buddy Holly Story" movie came out, I was hooked. Bought a vintage Stratocaster and away I went. Collected all of the old records too. I'm trying to get my turntable working again. I'll have to give "The Chirping Crickets" a spin when I do.
  22. Married for 28 years. Just had our youngest child's high school graduation!
  23. Yeah - I recorded it and flipped through it. No TPATH - even though it said there would be.
