I'm inclined to believe that Mike only did this because Stevie begged him to. FM wanted to tour and Lindsey didn't want to, so they were stuck.

This will be interesting - "Fleetwood Mike". Lindsey Buckingham has quite a different style than most - all fingerpicking, if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure Mike can handle the guitar work, and it looks like Neil Finn (Crowded House) will cover Lindsey's vocals. I suppose tickets will be a small fortune. As I recall, Fleetwood Mac were the first to break the $100 barrier.

They're all cool, but top 5 coolest? That ignores most of their recording and performing history with the Epiphone, Rickenbacker, and Gretch guitars. I do like that Les Paul Jr. that John had later in his solo career. I've been looking for a good deal on one of those.

Beauty. I like the headstock design. Mini-humbuckers is different for a double-neck. I don't think I've seen that before. Try "Runnin' Down A Dream" on that 6-string neck. I bet it sounds great. A double-neck is actually a great idea for covering Tom Petty songs. It seems like almost every song has a 12 in it.

For a double-neck, that's not TOO bad - I've seen Les Paul's that weigh more. Can't wait to see some pics.

Yeah, I have a few places actually. One is my car - to and from work. Another is - let's call it my cave - where I play loud music and usually play along with it on my guitar. A third is on my bike with earbuds just rockin' as I ride.

Pretty guitar. Did they tell you how much it weighs? Double-necks are typically quite heavy. Regarding the strings, I know the Beatles used flatwounds back in the day. A lot of people still use flatwounds on their Rickenbackers. I tried them once on one of my Rics and didn't really like them much. Kind of "thuddy", I thought. I use roundwounds on my 12-string. Ernie Ball light gauge nickel wound - 9 to 46 on the heavy strings, and 9 to 26 on the light ones.

We're going to the Mariners opener Thursday night. Felix is pitching. They always give the big refrigerator magnet schedules on opening day. Our 2nd fridge in the garage is covered in them on 2 sides. Baseball is life!

You have "City" and "State" income taxes? Damn. People complain about the taxes here in Washington, but we don't have either of those.

Oh yeah - by the end of January, and I had my refund a week or 10 days later.

To say "changed my life" is probably too big a statement for me to commit to, but I was certainly inspired to learn to play guitar by a number of artists - The Beatles and The Rolling Stones not the least among them. But I bought my first guitar after hearing Jim Croce sing and play.

I just realized that today is the 40th anniversary of one of my all time favorite rock and roll road-trips - down from Seattle to L.A. in my jalopy of a '65 Dodge Dart for Cal Jam 2 at Ontario Motor Speedway. Aerosmith, Heart, Dave Mason, Foreigner on their first tour, Santana, Terrible Ted, and more. A great day of music. Too bad Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers didn't play that show. They started a west coast tour about 3 weeks after Cal Jam 2, so it seems like they would have been available. Probably just not well-known enough quite yet to get into that kind of a show.

I pre-ordered Neil's latest archive release - a live record from the "Tonight's The Night" tour. This is almost a holy grail item for me. That might be my favorite Neil Young album and I've been waiting a long time for an official release from that tour.

Yeah, I've had 2 of those over the years. Absolutely the worst pain I've ever felt......twice.

I've seen them as high as $10k on eBay right after Tom passed.

My random thought is that it will be nice to put March in my rear-view mirror. A broken arm for me, and a couple of kidney stones for my wife. We're trying to catch our breath. April can't come fast enough.

They were always great, but I'll say 1999 just because Echo is probably my favorite Tom Petty record.
