^No problem at all, Amber!
More babysitters around the house sounds perfect to me!

Especially now that my son''s teething like a little maniac and hasn't had normal body temperature since last Saturday...

The only one who's weird and bald around here is myself!

Wish there was a venue half way from all of us, so we could all meet at that one special concert...

Eagles, Tom Petty to perform at 2012 Jazz Fest
By STACEY PLAISANCE
The Associated Press
NEW ORLEANS — The Eagles, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters and John Mayer are among the headliners to perform at next year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
It will be the first year the Eagles and Tom Petty play Jazz Fest, the outdoor music event that features hundreds of Louisiana artists in such genres as jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues, Cajun and zydeco. The festival is accented by national acts that in 2012 will include the Zac Brown Band, Herbie Hancock, My Morning Jacket, Bonnie Raitt, Al Green, Jill Scott and Florence & the Machine.
In all, hundreds of acts will perform on roughly a dozen stages over two weekends, April 27-29 and May 3-6, at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.

TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS – LIVE IN CONCERT
Tickets On Sale This Tuesday 20th December
MCD is pleased to announce that Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will play The O2, Dublin on 7th June, 2012.
This performance is part of the celebrated American rock ‘n roll band’s first tour of Europe in 20 years. Their 2012 European Tour also includes an already announced headlining-performance at the Isle of Wight Festival on 22 June.
Tickets priced from €65.45 including booking fee will go on sale this Tuesday 20th December at 9.00am.
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers belong to a special class of artists. A class comprised of those few acts that have sustained decades-long careers despite the restlessness of popular music’s audience. They have scored hits in five different decades while selling tens of millions of records along the way. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during their first year of eligibility and have garnered accolades and awards too many to mention. Through it all their uncompromising integrity has never wavered while their concert tours have become things of legend.
Tom Petty has said the Heartbreakers are first a live band. Critics have said they are one of the few great live rock ‘n roll bands still playing today. The audience spoke loudest of all in 2010 when Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ last North American tour was their most successful, attended by more people then ever before.
Tom Petty, with the Heartbreakers at his side, is a rock and roll icon lauded by fellow musicians and music lovers worldwide. The band’s 2012 Tour of Europe is their first of the continent in 20 years.

Okay, now I'm really excited.
Eventim, a German ticket vendor, have this on their website:
"will Tom Petty be in Germany soon?"
Which I believe means, "Tom Petty will be in Germany soon!"

@jawallac
Thanks for explaining that!
I've got a new account there (okay, I admit it - I wanted to win the signed box set), but I felt a little lost.
Music used to be about hashpipes, now it's about hashtags...geez... ;-)

And oh how promising this new logo looks! A true European tour logo! :-)

Great news - I sure hope this won't be the only European venue.
I feel a little too old for 3-day-festivals, and I wish they would sell Friday-night-only tickets. That would make it easier for me to afford it, plus it would suit my time schedule.
Let's see how this European tour thing evolves.
Maybe I'll just fly over. :-)

Cool picture! The hydrant looks gross, though...
