Yes, we are going out to eat with my mom and my husband's mother. I had to make the plans though - they always forget I'm a mom too.

It's been so windy here - I hope it dies down soon for the residents of SB sake - there does seem to be an increase in the fires that happen now. I almost feel like once it gets windy, you can almost expect it. I really feel for these people. Our house caught fire several years ago and while the entire house wasn't destroyed, it was enough for us to be displaced for several months. I can't imagine losing it all. Aside from material things, your house is..... your home. Your own little piece of comfort and safe haven away from the world. I wonder if they have any donation drop-offs...

This is heartbreaking... so sad reading this. I hope she is finding comfort with her family and friends - she's such a trooper. I am glad she did the documentary - what a brave thing to do.

I keep it all in and con myself into thinking that I am handling it all just fine and then it starts to show itself physically - my arms start to ache - it's really weird. A few months ago, I had an ongoing tremor in my left hand for several weeks and I knew...stress. Lol. That's when I realize what's going on and I try to get a better perspective...and a good cry helps too.

A few years ago we had several major things happen at once and I wasn't sleeping at all - my doctor prescribed Effexor and I took it for a few months and unfortunately, my particular experience was horrible. I stopped taking it because of the side effects and now just try to find other ways to deal with things....I know they work great for some people though.

Beth, you take the best pictures - so vivid. I love looking at them.... I love the Tube too - wish we had one here - it is so quick and easy!

I like picking out things for people, but if I know they really like gift cards, then I'll get them that. Gift cards are also great for teachers...and people you don't know well...and my son loves them because it gives him an excuse to go to Toys R Us or wherever.

The Hawaii Ironman is one of my husband's goals in life. He's not very close to doing it - lol - but I tell him to get busy and get on it so that we can go to Hawaii. Not sure what I would do...the NY marathon or the Mud Run at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside sounds fun...
