Where is the link? Nothing shows up in MJ's first post on my computer.

Probably her tickets were not selling that well due to the poor economy.
I found the article in the May 27, 2010, Rolling Stone interesting about ticket sales. It basically stated that the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster had caused higher ticket prices since they provide high artist guarantees and outbid other promoters to obtain top talent. This consequently causes higher ticket prices for the consumer.
"Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who had kept prices low for decades, accepted a higher-than-usual guarantee sources say, pushing top prices from under $100 in 2008 to roughly $130 this year--resulting in slow sales in many markets." That statement to me explains the rerouting of the TP&TH tour. It also stated that the only artist that seemed to be selling tickets was Lady Gaga. It even stated that the Eagles were experiencing slower ticket sales.

I guess that explains some of the rerouting of the tour, but it still messed up a lot of plans. I guess I was lucky to get all my money back, since I can't go in September.

Thanks Nurk! I will look forward to seeing Paul on TV in July.

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a great one.

Beth, what did Robert's wife look like? He divorced Maureen many years ago (somewhere around the early 80's), has had numerous affairs, and had another son, Jesse, around 16 or 17 years ago with another Indian woman from Wales that he didn't marry.

Hope you have had a very Happy Birthday!

I finally had time to sit down and watch this video. I truly liked this song--this is the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers that I have always loved. I, too, hope they sing this on SNL. I assume and hope the video will be released to VH1 and VH1Classic. Benmont did look extremely cute in this video flashing his smile.

I have Comcast. The service has been good, but the prices for digital television and internet seem to increase every few months.

Since I love cats, I would probably like the cat cafe. There were lots of pretty cats there. It is a strange idea for a cafe though.

I love that American Idol featured Shania Twain and her songs Tuesday night. I also loved that the Sons of Sylvia (aka The Clark Brothers who won The Next Great American Band in 2007) and originally from the southwest Virginia area got to perform on Wednesday night on American Idol.

Hope you are having a wonderful, fun-filled birthday. Happy Birthday Beth!

I am glad you like them Marion; I guess I was just completely disappointed in those two songs. These just aren't like Saving Grace--the first time I heard that song I loved it. Maybe these will grow on me. There are some songs you hear the first time and you know they are hits--when I heard Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood and I Need You Now by Lady Antebellum I immediately liked them and both were big hits for those artists. I hope the rest of the album will be really good. Our rock station in Roanoke regularly plays TP&TH even now--when Saving Grace came out they played it all the time.

I just read most of your comments and honestly if these are the singles I can't see any radio station picking these up--I hope I am wrong. I really don't like either one--maybe FFoF does have a Grateful Dead vibe and that would explain why I don't like it (I have never liked the Grateful Dead.) I hope some of the other songs are more upbeat and don't drag like these two.

I like the picture too. Thanks for blowing it up for us.

I hope the device helps Tom, and he can kick the habit. If Benmont still smokes, I hope he will try it too.

Tom on TV TONIGHT!

Thanks for the alert. My listing actually says they will play this tomorrow on our PBS station. I hope this is correct since I didn't see this until after the airing time of Tavis Smiley today on our station.
