  1. Thanks for sharing that with us Linda. I, too, love Paul and Brian.

I ran across the following which may already by posted somewhere here.

"Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song In Performance at the White House" tapes on Tuesday, June 2 and airs on Wednesday, July 28 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS stations nationwide, followed by an encore presentation at 9:30 p.m." I look forward to seeing this.

Also, there was an amazing concert of Paul and company on YouTube that was done in London in June. I hope this link works:

  2. I don't like this song either. Why the infidelity of Thomas Jefferson was put in a song is beyond me too. I know TJ did father a lot of slaves on his plantation--does that make you UVA fans proud (sorry I am a Virginia Tech Hokie). Maybe Tom was watching too much of the history channel or some type of program on Thomas Jefferson--I agree it does seem like a weird subject for a blues song or whatever category that one is suppose to fall into.

  3. Since my show got rescheduled, I was lucky enough to get a refund. To attend the rescheduled date my son and I would both have had to take extra vacation/sick leave days, so Weird Monkey you have helped me not to feel as badly as I did when it happened. Since that time, my school system has actually told the teachers that they may be furloughed up to as many as ten days without pay so maybe it is a blessing I don't have to pay for expensive tickets, an expensive hotel, gasoline, meals, and lose a sick leave day.

Also, I don't know what is wrong with me, but I have tried to listen to Mojo many times and I hit next song so much it isn't funny. I just cannot get into this album. I probably only really like about four songs on the whole album. I do like I Should Have Known It; and the Roanoke rock station, WROV, plays it some since I have heard it three times in the little time I have listened.

  4. 1. How often do you listen to Tom Petty & The Heartbreaker's music?

Varies with my mood and what I am doing

    2. Do you still listen to the radio? What is your favorite station

Sometimes--WROV, The Rock of Virginia (who actually play I Should Have Known It)

    3. How do you find new songs, albums, or artists to listen to?

    Radio, internet, and video channels

    4. When was the last time you bought a CD?

Mojo which I pre-ordered--I like to have the CD not just the download.

    5. Do you think any of the technologies and distribution methods mentioned above will still be around in ten years? Why or why not?

Hopefully video channels will still be around

    6. Take the quiz - What Does Your Taste in Music Say About You?

Your Taste in Music Says You're Wild

Your musical tastes are intense and rebellious.

You are intelligent... but in a very unconventional way.

You are curious about the world. You love doing something new.

In fact, you enjoy taking risks and doing things most people would shy away from.

You are very physical. It's likely that you're athletic, but not into team sports.

You have the soul of an artist. Beauty and harmony are important to you.

  5. Beth, I hope Smokey will be alright. Snoopy is getting better--his wound still looks bad but I know he is feeling better. He cries to go out--which I refuse to let him out until his back is fully healed. He is becoming a bit difficult when he receives his antibiotic so he is feeling well enough to fuss about that now.

  6. Beth, I hope Smokey is alright. I confess I am worried about the wooded area behind my house. Something attacked my cat, Snoopy--he required stitches, surgery, and a vet hospital stay. I recently spotted a raccoon at dusk--anyone have ideas how to get rid of this (I think this may be the culprit that attacked my cat.)

  7. This is my new favorite cover band, Port Chuck (a play on words for the name of the city where the soap takes place of Port Charles). The singers are four of the cuties from General Hospital--Steve Burton (Jason Morgan), Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), Scott Reeves (Dr. Steven Webber), and Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara). I was pleasantly surprised at how well Brandon Barash sings and plays harmonica. If you don't watch General Hospital, this will probably not impress you. I just thought it was neat that these four guys formed a cover band and plan to do some concerts in September.
