  1. ^ me, too! My black cat Cassidy sleeps on my bed and likes to lay right across my ankle, problem is it makes my whole leg fall asleep. And then I wake up and kick, and I feel so bad for him. He just will not sleep in a pet bed. My other cat Guthrie does, but she jumps on and off my bed about 5 times a night before she settles down. I also can not imagine life without pets!
  2. 1003 Washington Street. (And my parents still have the same phone number, too!)
  3. I have 2 cats. So no matter what I think is allowed or not - they go wherever they want. I'm lucky they allow me on the furniture. One thing they will not touch is the the 36 inch tall scratching post I bought them (of course!)
  4. Bye to another September, good riddance. I can honestly say that I hate the entire month of September, and I have for many years. Maybe one of these Septembers something fantastic will happen to make me retract that statement. Still waiting...
  5. Not yet. I have the kitchen window open, and inside the temp is at 68 - its at lot colder outside, but inside is just about perfect. My heat will come on if inside its less than 64.
  6. thanks for the kind words. I need them. And as far as my three shows this year - that is a hardship! In 2008 I went to seven! Just shows how crazy I had gotten. So here are some sunset pics - the sun is going down on this tour, hopefully there's a new dawn at some point in the future.
  7. I did have a nice vacation - and I guess I learned that I don't need a reason to go somewhere on a vacation. Stay tuned for beautiful sunset over the Pacific Ocean pictures...
  8. blueberries! Especially when they are in season, and you can buy 4 pints for $5. Or if I'm in a field where they grow wild. Or picking at a blueberry farm. Or if they are in a pie. I've actually gotten blueberry-sick before. (Its ugly!)
  9. I say 75. I'm always cold in offices and on buses. Its worse if air is blowing directly on me. A few years ago my co-worker had a fan always on her (it was a hot-flash thing) and I was miserable. SO, I always carry some kind of a tote with a sweater or sweatshirt inside.
  10. Thanks for thinking of me, Patty! I'm really starting to get the feeling that this whole "TPATH community" thing is falling apart. It used to be so different... Well, I went to San Diego on Monday, and I found out the concert was postponed (again) on Tuesday as I was driving to the venue. I heard it on the radio. Luckily I didn't make the whole entire hour drive out there. I had my California adventure, and I enjoyed myself. Didn't get to see the show (and I won't - I'm back in NJ) This show was postponed TWICE - I spent a lot of time and effort and money rescheduling things from June to September, and now moving it to October is just too much for me. I think I'm done with this whole Tom Petty-fandom. The three concerts I saw this year were all exactly the same, the band and Tom sounded mediocre at best - like they were just showing up and giving the least amount of effort to get through the songs. And they were the same same songs I've heard live over the past 5 years and 25 shows. But they didn't sound as good. No one seemed particularly excited, not the band and not even me. The "official" boards are an unrecognizable mess, the customer service concerning the whole MOJO packages and the stupid fan club with poster and the group A and the group B and the entire experience this tour has been horrible. The only mojo that MOJO has is bad, bad, bad mojo, like some kind of voodoo curse mojo. Cancellation, rescheduling, postponing, sinus-infecting, phoning-it-in BAD mojo. Please nobody flame me, this is just my feelings on the whole deal - you don't have to agree. I just wanted to unload these thoughts because I have been carrying this huge weight around for months.
  11. I very rarely have time to be out and about in my neighborhood. So whenever I am, I say hello and talk to my neighbors. They are really really friendly (to the point of nosy!) Sometimes I really don't feel like it, because I am constantly talking to people all day at work. I don't want people to think I'm cranky or antisocial, just want them to know I'm busy!
  12. 1. Have you ever called the police? Yes, lots of times. I live in NJ! 2. Name a movie that brings you to tears -- or as close to tears as you'll ever get: Please, dog food commercials have made me cry before. 3. Chicken pox -- have you had them? If yes, how old were you? Yes I was in Kindergarten, so 6? 4. What is the kindest thing someone has done for you in the last month? My dad took me and my mother and my aunt on an all-day meandering mad cap road trip all over the place on the Sunday before Labor Day. It was really fun! 5. What is the most uncomfortable outfit that you have worn this year? Funeral clothes. They always are the most uncomfortable.
  13. the more nervous I am, the calmer I look. My normal state of being is kind of fidgety and talkative. When I'm very nervous I can focus and do what I need to do with laser precision. And then when its all said and done and over with, then I freak out!
  14. I'm going to be watching it every Sunday. The first episode impressed me. One thing I didn't really get - the scene where he was looking through the window at the babies in incubators???
  15. I read word for word. I have a long commute every day to and from work, so I have plenty of time to read every day.
  16. 1. American football: good times or couldn't care less? couldn't care less. 2. Do you have a favorite sports team? not really. This summer my favorite was the Little League team from my town that went to the World Series! (They lost. But I did watch them and cheer them on!) 3. What's your favorite junk food? Tortilla chips with guacamole and hot hot salsa! 4. Do you feel sports players are paid too much? no, I don't begrudge them their salaries. I does make me sad that people like nurses and teachers don't make more money, though. 5. Do you watch the Superbowl every year? Yes, but only to watch the commercials and the halftime show. I usually knit through the football of it all!
  17. I couldn't sleep at all last night. Feel weird today, like something bad is going to happen.
  18. rectangle - Its a big square with the leaf in. (its hard to find square tablecloths, let me tell you!)
  19. Last time was dining room set - table and chairs and a bench last year. It took me a really long time, I went to 5 different stores, looked several times over the course of about a month. I knew instantly when I saw it - exactly what I wanted. It took about 30 seconds to find the guy to write up the sale. I've only ever bought furniture twice - it seems to take me a long time to decide what I want, but the purchasing is very quick - I instantly know when I want to take something home with me!
  20. today I have to go put my furniture all back the way it was. This hurricane wussed out.
  21. no! I'm very excited that I really don't have all that much to do. Have to mow the backyard, that's about it!
  22. "Here I am ... Rock you like a hurricane!" (can't get it out of my head)
  23. today i need to tie up my outside table & chairs. (hurricane is coming tomorrow!) I don't have a rope, but I'm thinking I'll just push the chairs in really tight around the table, and then go around the whole mess a few times with duct tape (with the sticky side out) Hopefully the combined weight of everything will stand up to any high winds. Chairs have heavy metal frames, and the table is metal and glass. (fingers crossed)
  24. ME! I would rather be swimming in a lake then sitting here at work. The weather has been bad for 6 days, today is the first time I've seen the sun since Thursday!
