  1. awwww....man. I'm still MAD about San Diego. But, even though you've been treating me bad all year, I still think its amazing that you're 60 today and your band is still so consistently awesome. So, Happy Birthday Tom Petty. (I didn't bake anything, though )
  2. on some acreage But, I would have to be near the ocean, and also near the city. This is why I like where I live now - I have it all, except the acreage part
  3. 1. Which specific features or columns of the newspaper do you always read? Entertainment section, and CIndy Adams and Page Six in the NY Post. 2. When do you normally start to do your Holiday shopping? Do you think you will spend more, less, or the same as last year? Way too late! December. I hope to spend about the same as last year. 3. Guess what? You are going to have a true “TV Dinner,” cooked by a classic character: who would you rather have in the kitchen? F) Kitty Foreman from "That 70's Show" 4. Which television commercial do you like seeing these days? The Direct TV commercial with the rich guy talking about "opulence" - when he kisses that tiny giraffe, I bust out laughing every time! 5. What are you tired of seeing on television? Political ads. 6. What cheesy sitcom (from any era) do you most identify with ? Roseanne.
  4. In the moment, I breathe and count to ten. I like to sit down and knit and watch tv to chill myself out. The repetitive motion and counting stitches works for me.
  5. ^I also loved the K-Mart stuff. Macy's stuff - not so much. I am an initiate of the cult of Martha, so I voted Great. I just hope that her business plan includes making her products in America. The "made in ___" label matters to me when I decide what to buy.
  6. Glenn Beck, Elisabeth Hasselback, Bill O'Reilly. (don't be fooled, they are not real, they are fictitious tv CHARACTERS!)
  7. I think the main issue is the oil companies. They need to put safety ahead of profit.
  8. 1. What kind of parties do you like to attend? Backyard BBQ pool parties with beer! 2. Do you play games? Which ones? Are you any good at them? Love card games - especially Spades. My friend Lisa and I are the best spades team in the universe! 3. What was the best party experience you've ever had? The worst? The best parties are a mix of good & bad. I'd say backyard blowout 2004 wins both. 4. Do you feel snacks are an important part of a party? What do you like to munch on? Yes. Lots of food so you can party all day and all night. Veggie burgers for me, and anything that my mom cooks - she likes to feed an army. 5. Have you ever thrown a wild party while your parents were out of town? What happened? Yes! My sister and I had one just last year, and the funniest/worst thing that happened was that someone broke the diving board. (BTW-we're both in our early 30s, and yes we still have parties when our parents go out of town!)
  9. Cassidy. (Bob Weir/Grateful Dead song) I named my cat Cassidy for that song. I like my name, so probably wouldn't want to ever change it. I was named after my dad's favorite Charlie's Angel!
  10. Mmmmmm...brownies! Imagine if you could order them with "special ingredients" at a restaurant for dessert.
  11. Yes. I like to see movies sometimes at midnight on the day they first come out. I usually go by myself to those, because I can rarely find anyone else crazy enough to go with me!
  12. I don't buy magazines, unless I have a subscription and get it every month. I only subscribe to magazines that I really like, and therefore I read all of them.
  13. I always get Scott's. The regular kind, no frills, no extra-soft or quilty or anything like that. And I always buy it a BJ's in the giant brick 30-pack. No need to worry about ever running out when you do that!
  14. No. We only have 6 holidays. This one doesn't make the cut! I think its an extra pain-in-the-a$$ day myself. The bus schedule is weird and inconvenient, and I always have to get up extra early and get home extra late because I commute. I hate Columbus Day, and I'm Italian!
  15. YES! I love it. When I was kid we did tomotoes and applesauce in the glass Ball jars. And always froze lots of stuff, too. Now I still go picking (there are wonderful farms where you can pick your own stuff in South/Central NJ) and I use a Food Saver vacuum sealer to freeze things. I have tomotoes, peppers, green beans in my freezer right now. Farm season is NOT over yet - I think I may go to the farms next wekend.
  16. sooooooooooooooooooooooo tired. Must make it one...more...hour.
  17. That is kind of a funny story - but only because your friend is going to be ok! I've done stupider things that landed me in the ER. Its probably a story that the ER staff will talk about for a while.
  18. I don't really care. I heard so many people talk about the first one, all said how funny it was. I was disappointed when I actually saw it on DVD. I'm a Netflix person, not really into going to see movies in the theater.
  19. I will not take anything besides Tylenol, Advil, (generics are ok), or Aleve. Anything stronger makes me kind of crazy.
  20. 1. Do you have a driver's license? How old were you when you first got your license? Yes - 17. 2. Who taught you how to drive? Dad mostly. He yelled alot, once he pulled the emergency brake on me while I was driving, and he never taught me how to drive a stick (I figured that out myself!) I had driver's ed in school, too, which was scary because the teacher would always fall alsleep in the passenger's seat! 3. What was the model of the car you first drove on your own? I guess my parent's cars were the firsts - Mom's 1992 Chevy Cavalier was the one I took the test in, there was also my Dad's - I honestly don't remember the make/model, just that we called it "the sh!tmobile" 4. CDs: the best thing ever? Yes - but I only started to think that once computers had CDR/W drives. I was always the kid that scratched the hell out of my CDs. Now I love them because I can make a new one if I ruin a disc. 5. You've just won a thousand dollars! How would you spend it? Replace my broken Kindle (another casualty of my San Diego trip!), buy some new clothes for the colder weather, buy some new sheets and a new bedspread, buy a certain expensive piece of fabric that I want to make into a curtain for my bedroom window.
  21. I keep talking about having a big blowout New Years Eve party - because for so many people around me, 2010 was a pretty sucky year.
  22. ^sooooo... it was you! JK - I was just talking about my trip and and realizing I did have a good time. I will be sending positive vibes to Roger Waters for you! That should be a really great show. I think my next show is going to be Bonnaroo next summer.
  23. WOw! your house had it own name? I should give my house a name, I think that's cool.
