  1. Yes Yes YES! I love it. As a kid we went a lot. I learned how to cook breakfast from my dad, cooking out on a Coleman stove. We had a pop-up camper for a little while, too. Now I have whole bunch of my own gear, and I'm going to a music festival this July with dad and some friends. I have been going about once a year, for as long as I can remember.

  2. ooooooh. Mine's terrible.

This was about 8 years ago now, I was driving north on the Garden State Parkway on a Sunday night, about 11pm. I got pulled over because a State trooper clocked me at 97MPH in a 55MPH zone. No one even believes me when I tell the story, because no one believes my tiny old car can even go that fast. I've completely changed since this incident, which was very very scary and very expensive with insurance and court costs. I have since even moved back "down the shore" so I never have to travel that stretch of highway on a weekend night!

  3. Beth - jealous you got some UK papers! That's a great b-day present. A friend I work with was at the royal wedding (for work), and was supposed to bring me back a souvenir, but had to rush back due to the news of UBL's demise. I appreciated that he got back so soon and helped with that situation, but man was I disappointed when he came back with no schwag! Its the British tabloids online for me.

  4. 1. Do you like car rides? yes.

    2. Where is the last place you took a long car ride to? from NJ to RI

    3. What do you like to do on long car rides? drink coffee, sing, look out the windows.

    4. Do you have AAA or any type of roadside assistance? Yes, and I buy my sister's membership every year, too. AAA has saved my life before!

    5. Can you read a map or do you go strictly by instruction? I have a pretty terrible sense of direction, so I usually go with a GPS, and then a printed map for backup, and then written-out turn by turn directions as a backup to that!

    6. Finish the sentence: What a nice ___Chevy Volt_______.

  5. I would love to learn how to do glasswork!

Beth, your husband made some mad cool furniture. I need to do something with my father so I can show off his stuff online, maybe his garage workshop gets its own facebook page??? I'm not into the facebook (yes, I'm the only one I know who's not on, too!)

I have a profile on ravelry (pierfox), but i really haven't put many things on there so far.

  6. I love homemade gifts, but I don't really get many. Except from my father - he makes furniture and my house is full of his creations. I make things to give as gifts a lot - mostly knitted and crocheted blankets and afghans. Probably everyone I've known in the past 6 or 8 years that has had a baby, I've made a blankie for them. I have two in the planning stages right now, this reminds me I have to get started!

  7. I have old fashioned work ethics, that is I .go to work when I'm supposed to, I arrive on time, I work hard all day, take the alloted hour for lunch and not an hour and a half. I don't call out sick every other week either. In fact, I've only taken 2 sick days this year in total. People that show up late for work, leave early and fart around pretending to look busy piss me off and don't get me started on the constant ones who are sick on Mondays and Fridays.

    AMEN sister!

This afternoon I've been waiting 1 hour 15 minutes for my co-worker to get back from "lunch".

  8. I usually sat near the front of the class, because my last name starts with C and most teachers did the alphabetical order thing. I liked to talk a lot in English class. Except Sophmore year during Julius Caeser - I liked to sleep through that class!! In college I always sat in the front and spoke up a lot, but only for the classes I actually went to.

  9. I guess I'm the only wierdo here who loves tattoos!

I have 4 (now) and each one has a story and signifiicance of its own.

1-a ying yang on my collarbone (left side) 1st one that got when i was 18, I guess its my 1st "adult" decision. Also its a symbol of balance close to my heart.

2- a small picture of the earth, on the outside of my left thigh - got it at kind of a turning point in my life - when I thought the world was my oyster.

3 - On my upper back a round flag (well, its a flag, kind of like someone scratched of my skin and a flag is showing through a roundish hole) and a little ribbon that says 9-11-01. I got it because I felt scarred for life, and wanted something on the outside showing that.

4- on the inside of my left ankle, a sort of tribal, colorful pic of an alligator. I got it in 2006 after the Gainseville show, to represent conquering my fear of flying and going to Florida. Its my bravery.

I love tattoos and their stories and their symbolism, and I am not done yet. (Disclaimer - None of my tattoos show when I am dressed for work, and I have no plans of getting any that show all the time.)

  10. I would say Julia Braverman on Parenthood.

Although I'm not a mom, nor a lawyer, my family says I'm very much like that character. There was a scene in the Thanksgiving episode where Julia was making three different pies for the holiday, and she had the same KitchenAid mixer as me, and she was just as stressed as me (and I was making three pies while watching the show!) where I just had to admit it to myself.

If you don't watch Parenthood, I love it and I would highly reccommend it!
