I would like to put this out there - it is time to retire the name "Ground Zero". For years and years there was a pile, a hole in the ground, and that is what I think of when I hear Ground Zero. Its not that anymore and I will not refer to it with that name.

yes, I have. When everything I see starts to fade and turn white, then I know I'm going down. Once I fainted in the Wetlands (a club) because it was really really hot and overcrowded, and I was was probably dehydrated. And a few times when I had the flu - also dehydrated and feverish.

no way! I'm never home in the first place, but I get non-stop calls from people who want me to refinance my mortgage. Like every hour all day long. I actually use the same company for my tv and phone, so the caller ID pops up in the upper left corner of my tv screen. If I don't know them, I let it go to voicemail. Everyone I know has my cell phone number, anyway.

today someone I work with saw me walk in and yelled across the building lobby "Kelly! Kelly!" When I looked, he said "Kelly, you were right!" For about 20 seconds I had no idea what he was talking about. Then I remembered.

I wonder how my camping trip this weekend is going to go. Up in Bear Country NJ, 30% chance of rain every day. I think I'll be packing lots of warm clothes.

I got free falafel lunch today! I was the very last person to show up at the Crisp truck before they shut the window. I tried to pay but they were closing out their register, so the guy in charge told the people to make me whatever I wanted and told me it was on the house. Love, love love love CRISP!

I love storms, when I am at home. I was the idiot standing in the middle of the street at 2am when Irene came through my town. Something about the strong wind just makes me feel alive! But when I am away from home, I don't like storms all that much.

Last month I went camping (rough camping - no ammenities at all) so I stocked up on all that good stuff - batteries, matches, canned food, bottled water, flashlights, wet wipes, rain gear, first aid kit stuff, non-perishable snacks, bottled gas for the propane stove, and on and on on. So I would say I was pretty well prepared for the latest

Silver Chevy Volt. (Fat chance I could cough up the $41,500 for it, tho!)

Tree is cleaned up, I can ride all the way home tonight! For the first time ever I made a phone call to NJ Transit info and spoke to a very very nice lady. Just talked to my parents and they have no power. There were 3 or 4 places in their neighborhood where trees took out power lines, or telephone poles came down. So, hopefully their power is offline because they are working on fixing those issues. If they don't have it back by tonight they are going to come over to my house and watch Weeds. Slowly NJ is getting back to normal, just waiting to see about some rivers cresting. I can't think of a worse thing than being flooded.

hey kids, checking in. Me and mine are all ok. My little house is fine, just 6 miles from the ocean. My family is all good, too. There were lots of downed power lines and tree branches, but thankfully no direct hits to me or my parents or my sister. And, if you can possibly believe it, I left New York City on Friday at 4:30pm! Thank you, Chris Christie, for closing the Garden State Parkway south of exit 98 by 8pm Friday. I owe my co-workers massive favors for picking up all the responsibility of keeping the channels on the air through this. Lots of people put up with a lot of aggravation. The worst inconvience today was that a tree was down at my bus station and no buses were in/out TR. Had to wake my dad up early so he could ride me around to find a bus. Brick Dorado park & ride came through! Got to get down to some work now that I'm back in the office. Fingers crossed that they clean up the tree before I have to ride home.

epicenter was Mineral, VA. Maybe because I was on the 15th foor in my building, I didn't feel anything? This was so rare, it will probably never happen again in this area in my lifetime. And I missed it. My parents and sister felt it at home. My firend in Newark NJ - her building was evacuated and she was sent home for the day. That will absolutely never ever happen to me. When news happens, I just have to stay put and keep working. Only if every tv in the whole world spontaneously exploded would I ever get sent home early! Really feeling like a spastic hamster running frantically in one of those hamster wheels lately. I took tomorrow off just as a mental health day ( I requested it 2 weeks ago) I really need it. Here's hoping for some good pool weather!

I didn't feel a thing. I'm actually a little disappointed!

no. unless you count walking from the bus station to work and then back every day? That's about 30 minutes of brisk walking. Dodging tourists in Times Square, carrying about 10lbs of big purse. That counts, right? And then working in my garden, bending and stretching and squatting, and hoeing weeds. And mowing the lawn every weekend, front and back. I guess I exercise whenever I can.

I make cds for my car all the time. I only have a one disc cd player, and although I can hook my little portable xm player into the cassette deck, I find it too hard to mess with and concentrate on driving. The latest CD I made is called "Random insane singing songs" - all songs I like to sing at the top of my lungs. Tom Petty's "Kings Highway" (live from the Playback boxed set) Janis "Bobby Magee" Beatles "She came in through the bathroom window--> Golden Slumbers" Spin Doctors "You Mamas a Pajama" and The Might Be Giants "Birdhouse in your soul" and Rage Against the Machine "Renegades of Funk"

Neither. I'm a vegetarian. (yes, I consider shrimp to be meat, because they are an animal)

Do not re-make "Dirty Dancing!!!" you will ruin it!

you are right. I should watch it, tho, I shouldn't be writing about my job on line.

I can understand that people get riled up about the stock market. So no worries. Take a deep breath for me. The TV news angle is where I'm coming from, but I'm not going to say anymore about it. Its a stressful job. I get stressed. I checked this topic today to say that I'm never going to post anything more about "what do you need to do today?" because every time I do, I never actually do any of the things I list.

10 years ago, I had just seen my first TPATH concert, and I have been hooked since then! (well, the MOJO No-show tour really sucked last year) I was living in a tiny studio apartment in ghetto-town, the first place that was all my own. I was working at my curent job, I had just gone full-time and was so glad to have a real job job. I bought a brand new car for myself because for the first time in my life I could actually afford it. Job was good - this was just before 9/11/01 when everything that I knew completely changed forever.
