Damn, I have tears in my eyes. What beautiful, loving story, Tim. Thank you for sharing that.

Nice! Thanks Ref!

Very cool! What a great story. Very nice of Dana to get you in to the show.

I have to go with Mudcrutch because I didn't attend any of the other shows, and also because I am so loving that music right now!

I think the most expensive speeding ticket I ever got was when Runnin' Down a Dream came on the radio and I was keeping time with my right foot.....I have never gotten a ticket, but I have certainly found myself doing WAY OVER the speed limit when listening to RDAD while driving!!

Nice review Beth and great photos. Good job getting photos of Benmont and Jeff L. Love the shot of The Troubadour from across the street; I have never seen a photo of it from that perspective. Wow... IF they ever play The Troubadour again, I am going to be there regardless!!

JUST GOT THE NEW ALBUM, STILL ABSORBING IT. I LIKE WHAT I'VE HEARD SO FAR, WOULD HAVE LIKED A COPY OF THE LYRICS THOUGH. I'M A LONG TIME PETTY FAN AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE HARD TO FOLLOW HIGHWAY COMPANION, BUT HERE IT IS. IS IT JUST ME, OR DO TOM PETTY AND ROAD TRIPS JUST NATURALLY GO TOGETHER? GREAT TRAVELIN' MUSIC!TP and road trips most definitely go together! This album can go anywhere - it is incredible. I can not count the number of times I have listened to it in the past three days. My newest fave song is House Of Stone.
The lyrics are available online:

I'd like lyrics for Oh Maria... and really everything else.Anyone have a link? Thanks in advance, Rock on.
ALL of the lyrics are available at www.mudcrutchmusic.com, but they are tricky to find, at least on my computer. There are several tabs across the top of the page, but they are not visible on my computer. But if I slide my cursor up at the top of the screen, I can see that there are links there. So the tab for the album and the lyrics is the fourth one from the left. Click on it, it brings up the album, with lyrics, and liner notes, and the music clips!

^ You will have lots of "moms" to take care of you, whether you like it or not, lol. :045: Ask ZZ, lol.Oh about the rifle, I have a damn Mockingbird, chirps and sings all night and early morning, arghhhh!
Isn't it a sin to kill a Mockingbird....
And in Texas, if not a sin it is probably a felony since the Mockingbird is the state bird!
Oh yeah: I wish I were in California this week with tickets to all of the Mudcrutch shows!
And if I can't have that, I would settle for being off work today; it is an absolutely stunningly beautiful day in Houston today, with low temps and low humidity.

I bought the itunes download and got it last night. And stopped by my local record store last night and confirmed that they would have the CD today.
They had a large display in the window of the album cover, maybe 3 feet x 3 feet. The owner/manager has promised to save it for me! Just what I need, ha ha.
I don't remember -- will the album be released on vinyl also?

Thank you for the compliments everyone. I would rather take photos of rock n roll shows than do just about anything else.
Everybody's photos are great! Each one takes me right back to The Arlington Theater and brings back that rush of excitement that I felt when the guys came out on stage and the joy I felt seeing and hearing them play! I am SO grateful that I was able to be there and experience one of these shows.
But I am greedy and I wish I were back in California too!!!

I wish I were.

Here is a link to a slideshow of my Santa Barbara photos. Let me know if it doesn't work for you and I will post some of them directly here.

Photobucket loaded them in the reverse order from how I uploaded them, so if you are anal like me and want to see them in their true order, click on the 'reverse order' option at the bottom left of the screen in photobucket.

Very good article. I love this:
"We didn't have a TV, but in the living room we had a record player set up between two big guitar amps, and we each got to pick an album and put it on and everyone would sit and listen and discuss it," Petty says. "And I mean, we really listened and that was our music education. Randall would put on a Hendrix album, Tom might bring Doc Watson, Mike might have Chet Atkins. . . . "
They are totally into the music, and always have been. That is a big part of their success.
And this:
Back at the Fillmore, Petty sits on the lip of the stage, talking to Leadon about the changing nature of alligators in Florida. The creatures were sleepy and slow to bite back when the two were boys; now it's changing. "It ain't like it used to be," Petty says, "It's not safe to hang around the water's edge. You might just get bit."
:icon_laugh: Hmmm... sounds like a good title somewhere in there for the NEXT Mudcrutch album.
I know I have been bit -- by the Mudcrutch bug! I can't get enough. Thanks for posting this Linda.

It was so good to see you again, Kay. I wish we had had time to talk!! There's always so little time to actually hang out at these shows.(We need a nice long talk about our Poltzi once of these days!)
So happy you and Lizzie came all the way out here and had a great
time!!
It was nice seeing you too, Barb!. It was definitely a whirlwind weekend and we had a great time.

John, these are great. Thanks so much for putting them up. I have been reliving last Saturday night thru your vids. I especially like the 04/19 Bootleg Flyer with Mike and Tom L. getting down with the guitar riffs. The smile on Mike's face is just incredible. The guys are obviously having a good time with this run of shows.
Thanks again.

I felt like I didn't fit in anywhere in high school, so I picked 'Loners/Misfits'. There were five of us girls that hung out together and did everything together. None of us were cheerleaders, or were in band or orchestra or drama or choir, and we definitely were not jocks! We were all very smart and graduated at the top of our class, but didn't hang with the smart kids. We liked rock n roll, and smoked some dope, but didn't smoke enough to hang with the stoners, either!
Now I belong to the 'Music Junkies' group.
