  1. Are these drawings on-going? Right now the Tazzy Fund website says winning tickets will be drawn on 06/05/08, and the buy now link for tickets is active. Do I have a second chance at a guitar??!!
  2. Damn... I missed this whole thing. But WOO HOO for Athena!!! Congratulations!!!
  3. Um, presently there is no cure. And when one is developed, I want no part of it! :003::003::003:
  4. It sounds a lot like 'Lost Children' from The Last DJ. I like it, though it ranks lower for me than the other tunes on the album. But the lyrics are beautiful.
  5. Dance The Night Away - Van Halen
  6. The Wedding Singer. Followed by 50 First Dates, and Big Daddy.
  7. Yes, I like knowing the history, who the various members have been, who came from what other band, etc. When I find someone new that I really like, I will acquire all of the past albums and really delve into the evolution of their sound.
  8. Never baptized. We attended Church of Christ when I was a child. I do not attend church now, but if I were to start attending, it would definitely not be at Church of Christ. I attended several different churches with friends while growing up - Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian. Today I prefer a non-denominational church. Preferably high on a hill top where I can feel the sun and the wind and hear the birds sing. I do not like or trust organized religion.
  9. I love this one too. Particularly with its references to Houston. The lyrics are brilliant and I love the melody.
  10. Well, we weren't in line exactly, but sorta. At ACL 2006, we waited eight hours for TPATH to come onstage - standing in the same spot, with no bathroom break, no food or water other than what we started with, braving the blistering Texas sun, humidity, and rain. Does that count?
  11. I love the upbeat rhythm of the song. And the guitar-playing is magnificent. Well, all of the playing is magnificent! (What the hell is an earworm??? Sounds gross! Reminds me of that scene in one of the Star Trek movies when that worm-thing came crawling out of Chekov's ear. )
  12. I picked up a copy of the album last week. It is growing on me rapidly. It definitely has some beautiful keyboard and guitar parts on it! I think this review from above sums it up nicely: The Miami Herald called the album "a must have," the Dallas Morning News described the disc as "the exhilarating sound of a mature man truly reconnecting with his younger, hungrier self,"... I'm looking forward to seeing him again, for the first time in many years, in October.
  13. Looks like you can purchase one month for $6.95. So you would basically be purchasing their interview for $7. But watch out for that 'auto renewal' feature, where they automatically renew your subscription.
  14. 1. Describe where you grew up: In a central area of Houston officially known as 'Plainview' on the city plats. Halfway between River Oaks (rich & sophisticated) and The Montrose (hippies). I gravitated to The Montrose and the hippies, LOL. Lots of kids in the neighborhood. In the summertime, we stayed out long after dark playing kickball or kick the can in the intersection under the streetlight. And similar to what Kira said, during Christmas break, we would collect the disgarded Christmas trees and build forts with them. 2. Do you wear any jewelry? Earrings (pierced ears), a watch, a necklace that has my zodiac sign of Cancer on it (kind of goofy and very old school, but a friend gave it to me when I was 14, it has sentimental value and darned if I don't still believe in that sunsign stuff to a certain degree), a silver ring given to me by my best friend in high school, a silver & copper ring my son gave me, and a gold ring with rubies that was my great-grandmother's and was handed down to me by my grandmother. After that, any variety of bracelets and necklaces depending on my mood. 3. What do you have too much of? Extra weight; clothes that no longer fit; crap - I am a sentimental fool and save newspaper articles, magazines, posters, ticket stubs, hotel room keys, all of my grandmother's mementos and photographs. 4. Who is a fool? See #3 above. 5. What's your nickname? I don't really have one now. When I was very young, my grandmother called me Kay-Kay, and I have a cousin who still calls me that. And also when I was young, one of my aunt's friends called me 'Cupcake'. Ha, ha, ha. I HATED that!!! Actually, I guess Kay is my nickname, since my given name is Kathryn.
  15. While You Were Sleeping, with Bill Pullman, who also starred in...
  16. Word!!! 1. Not rebelled against those piano lessons my mother made me take 2. Put forth more effort in high school. 3. Moved my grandmother to Seven Acres instead of Happy Harbor.
  17. I am so glad that y'all have cleared this up. I read that story here tonight, and was shocked, because I didn't hear anything about regurgitation on the 05/01 recording!
  18. Rush Hour with Chris Tucker, who also starred in...
  19. Bought myself an expensive ticket last night to see Neil Diamond in Houston on 10/14. I couldn't resist. :003:
